Hi! My name is Júlia and I'm a master student originally from Barcelona now living in Montpellier. I recently finished a stage here and I'm looking for a job opportunity in which I can take advantage of my language and teaching expertise. I'm fluent in English, a language I practice daily, Spanish and Catalan (my two mother-tongues). I'm currently learning French, a challenging and exciting experience, but I consider myself still a beginner. Besides France and Spain, I have also lived during 6 months in Belgium. I have experience as a private teacher of 6- to 18-year-old students, although the classes I offer are also open to adults. As a teacher I am patient with students in my class. This is not a place of judgment; it is a space where we learn and grow. During my years as a private tutor, I have mainly taught languages (Spanish and English), mathematics and sciences. I'm as creative as possible in my classes and adapt the lessons to each student.

Companies: Teletech, Telefono Permanente, MST, Teleperformance and Promofon. As a Team Leader / Supervisor: more than three years in Teleperformance and Promofon, (ONO), making sure the group of Agents were appropriatly trained and equipped to resolve doubts, problems and change requests; makintg sure the team could respond effectively to Account Managers ` requests for further information and , when necessary, take proactive action to ensure they were aware of an issue. And last but not least, every day monitoring work, keeping an eye on the activity of premium learners, ensuring the team was taking the necessary proactive action, either by phone or email. I am a multilingual translator who has been working as a language teacher for 4 years now. As my parents are Spanish (Catalan) and French, I am native in the three languages. I have also studied abroad, so I have a C2 level in English (with the Proficiency Certificate). Hence, I also prepare students for all the Cambridge English exams (First Certificate-B2, Advanced-C1 and Proficiency-C2).

Spanish is a very useful language. It will allow you to communicate with people from many different countries. (Skype/Zoom available) I moved to the US a few years ago for professional reasons, it was very difficult to apply everything I had learned in traditional English schools to my everyday life. I quickly realized that the system that schools often use does not reflect the human learning process. As children, we first learn a few words and over time we develop language skills through mistakes and a fearless approach to the language. It is only later, at school, that our communication skills are refined. So why should we memorize the correct tenses and sentence constructions right from the start if we can not express ourselves yet? When we learn a new language, we often spend a lot of time constructing the perfect sentence in our head instead of speaking it.

Catalan is a romance language used by more than 11 million in Europe. Nowadays Catalan is fashionable because of its social movement in Catalunya, the fame of Barcelona and the multiple touristic attractions. In this course, the learning process is practical and combined with an immersion on the Catalan culture. My method is based in creating visual scenarios in which you will discover the words to use and the right way to make sentences in that situation. Once we can have a small conversation in that scenario, we will repeat it at the next meeting and it will be included in our "refresh quarter" which is a 15 minute revision on all the words and ways of saying that you keep learning. My focus is on connecting the language to your needs and wishes to make sure the learning is well grounded.
