Frank Wu (B.Mus, MA) is a Hong Kong based piano teacher with a passion for music education. A native of Hong Kong, Frank spent formative years honing his craft as a musician in Australia. He is an alumnus of the Australian Institute of Music, where he studied composition under the guidance of renowned Australian composers Eric Chapus and Drew Crawford. As a live performer, he was an active member in the vibrant Sydney music scene, accumulating extensive performing experience both as a pianist and keyboardist. On returning to his hometown of Hong Kong, Frank chose to focus his passion in music education. To further his professional development as a teacher, he attained his Master's degree in Music from the Hong Kong Baptist University, graduating with highest honors with a focus on piano pedagogy and early childhood music education. With over seven years of teaching experience, Frank is a seasoned music teacher who has taught students of all ages - from preschool children to senior adults. I am a professional opera singer who has performed in theatres and concerts in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Romania, and Hong Kong, has won international vocal competitions, been an adjudicator in vocal competitions, and given vocal masterclasses in secondary schools. Currently, I am an official singing and piano teacher at an arts school in London, where my classes are always fully booked. A former scholar at the Royal College of Music London, sponsored by The Kenneth and Violet Scott Award, I earned a degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Nigel Clayton, Peter Jablonski and Ruth Nye. I was also a recipient of Talent Development Scholarship awarded by the Hong Kong Government Scholarship Scheme. Started learning the piano at the age of 4, I won numerous prizes in different competitions including Asia Piano Open Competition, TOYAMA Asian Youth Music Competition, Inter-School International Performance Challenge and Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals. In 2018, I was also one of the finalists in the Liszt Memorial Prizes Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition. I have been actively engaged in music teaching since 2013. Starting my career in Opus 1 Arts Music Studio in Hong Kong, I continued inspiring the next generation when I moved to London in 2015, where I was appointed as the piano teacher in the Lanterns School of the Performing Arts London and London Music Centre.
