About Me
My motto is "teach drums, don't teach songs". My approach to teaching drums is to focus on the fundamental language and vocabulary of drumming, rather than just teaching students to play specific songs. Drumming has its own unique musical language and expression, and I believe it's important for students to develop a strong understanding of that underlying vocabulary.While learning songs can be a valuable part of the learning process, as it allows students to apply the techniques and styles they're learning, it shouldn't be the sole focus. The risk is that students may only learn to play like others, rather than developing their own personal drumming style and voice.
By concentrating on the core drumming skills, techniques, and ways of thinking, I aim to empower my students to find new modes of self-expression through the drums. The goal is for them to be able to play and create in their own unique way, not just replicate what others have done. Drumming is a form of musical language, and I want to help my students become fluent in that language so they can use it to communicate their own musical ideas and personality.

Drums lessons in FR-IT-EN with an experienced and qualified teacherJe donne cours en français - Description disponible en Français
Do lezione in Italiano - Descrizione disponibile in Italiano
.........................................................................................................................................................
The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements.
-> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student.
-> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor.
The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages.
=> Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more.
On demand or for advancs students:
- I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student.
- I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati.
Technique:
* Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.)
* Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems
* Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum
* Speed drills
* Military marches
* Control of the different subdivisions (quarter notes - eighth notes - triplets - sixteenth notes - quintuplets - sextuplets - triple eighth notes - nonolets etc.)
* Displacement of accents and polyrhythms
* On request, double pedal technique (application of the Moeller to the double pedal as well as everything listed above but with the feet)
Drums:
* Bass drum reading and independance
* Snare drum reading and independance
* Applications of ghost notes
* The 16 sixteenth-notes ostinatos
* Jazz readings and independence
* Binary and ternary readings
* Coordination and movements of both feet
* Dynamics on the instrument
* Creation of fills and original drum grooves
* On request, application of the double pedal
* On request or for advanced students, readings and independence of South American rhythms (study and independence of the clave/Cascara/Mozambique etc.)

The music theory comes little by little and logically (listening, initiation to reading and writing), I never do 100% theoretical lessons
I adapt the lessons according to the student's profile, always with the aim of building a solid base to become an autonomous and versatile musician.
My profile :
- Bachelor of Musicology in France in Lyon
- 3rd cycle of Jazz drums at CRR Lyon

Eva
Japanese Taiko Drumming (Online and Real Life Lessons)Taiko Drumming is both a traditional instrument and an innovative medium for making contemporary music.
I am Eva, a professional Taiko Drummer, and I have playing the Taiko drums for 30 years.
Lessons will be taught online on weekdays and on-site in central Tokyo on weekends, in groups. Private lessons can be arranged upon request.
Here is my profile:
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Eva was raised by a family of scholars and artists with mixed German and Japanese heritage. From a young age, she learned how to play piano after her father introduced her to classical music, while she simultaneously learned Taiko after her mother introduced her to the Japanese arts. After graduating from the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan, she attended Cornell University in New York, USA, where she earned a B.A. in Philosophy. While attending Cornell, she joined the Cornell University Percussion Ensemble. The following year, she co-founded the Taiko drumming student organization called Cornell Taiko (YAMATAI) and she was the lead drummer and Musical Director. After graduating from Cornell at the young age of 22, she returned to Japan and started performing professionally. She started her solo career a year later.
Eva is also trained in Japanese folk dance (with a focus on male styles) and has a passion for street dance and locking. She joined an Awa dance team affiliated with the prestigious Koenji Awa Dance Association and made her way to become one of the top female dancers in Japan.
Today, she brings Japanese taiko drumming and song to a brand new context of pop music and also performs with many distinguished artists, musicians, dancers, and Taiko drummers across multiple genres. Eva does not only perform using taiko, she also uses a number of other instruments that have a distinct flavor of the Japanese environment including Koto (Japanese Harp), Voice, and Piano. Eva also works in the field of education and teaches taiko drumming workshops to both children and adults and is also involved in humanitarian efforts such as raising awareness for the disabled.
Her music, dynamic performances, and selfless spirit continue to inspire not only her many fans but all who witness her performances all over the world.
In 2023, her original music was published by Harper Collins Publisher and she was also the cover image of their music textbook. In 2024, her original music was utilized by Cambridge International Curriculum, used in over 160 countries and 10,000 schools, which sets a global standard for education, and is recognized by universities and employers worldwide.

Drum lesson, all levels, all styles. Learn to play drums, or perfect your playing and knowledge.Learning an instrument, at any level, can be a fun and extremely rewarding endeavour. However, finding an adequate teacher is key to making this learning experience fruitful and enjoyable. After years of experience as a teacher, and a performing musician, I have perfected a teaching method that allows students to follow their own musical aspirations, while developing a strong foundation on the drums, therefore reaching their full potential. Together, we will focus on your musical interests, and get you the tools that you need to be proficient on the instrument. You will get a clear idea of what you can do to become a good drummer and further your knowledge as a musician, regardless of musical style or level.
Antoine
Drum Lessons All levels (beginner to pro) // JAZZ - HIPHOP - POP - GOSPELFirst of all, there is no level limit. I like teaching beginners, freshly bitten by the music bug, as much as I like teaching already established and experienced musicians thirsting for new perspectives on their playing, and a job of targeting points to work on.
Each musician having his own specificities and aspirations, the key word for me is Adaptation.
It is through discussion with the student and the understanding of his objectives that a specific teaching program will be set up that will correspond to him.
Having myself experimented with methods based on music theory and reading, I could see their advantages and their limits. And although I believe in the usefulness of at least a basic knowledge of these, it is quite possible for beginners to learn and have fun without.
For the most eager to improve, I could give you the keys to a fluid sight reading, and an understanding of rhythmic and / or harmonic music theory.
Together we will be able to work on targeted exercises to perfect technique, musicality, group work, on stage and knowledge of different styles such as Jazz, HipHop, Gospel, Pop, Rock, Soul.
I attach particular importance to the search for a personal sound, and a comfort of play, and this through exercise of development of the creativity and an attention paid to the relaxation and an ideal position and specific to each.
Amateur or professional, rock or jazz, paper or audio support, alone or in a group, whatever the situation, my only goal is to give you the keys to help you progress, to become the musician you want to be at the pace that you want. is appropriate, and that in the pleasure!

Drum lessons in Brussels for all ages and levelsTrained at the conservatory, then at the Progressive Drum School, I then sought to improve myself by taking private lessons from references such as Loïc Pontieux, Franky Costanza, Kevin Reveyrend or Franck Aghulon.
I have taught drums and music theory to students of all ages, all levels and in different contexts: recreational practice, exam preparation, putting on shows.
I have also conducted musical workshops for organizations such as youth centers, elementary or nursery schools, and social centers, for projects ranging from musical awareness to the production of shows or music videos.
I therefore have very comprehensive teaching experience and know how to adapt to different audiences.
Now being a full-time professional musician, I also want to share my professional experience with students.
During my teaching career I have questioned myself a lot about the problem of the teaching method because there is no single model of student and giving a course is not just giving a list of exercises. So I try to understand the student and advise him on the best method and the best pace of practice.
Egon
Graduate of the CRR and student at the Royal Conservatory, gives lessons for beginners, amateurs and advanced students.One of the goals of the course? to pass on my passion and make music.
Together, whether you are beginners or experienced, we will explore:
-work on sound, posture
-the study of music (jazz, improvisation, funk, rock, world music etc.)
-work on your creativity.
-hand and foot coordination
-develop your own autonomy with the instrument
-rhythmic reading, technique (snare drum etc.) J
I always take care to adapt and shape my student's course for him/her. It is necessary in my opinion to always remain open to desires and requests, for progression and thus keep the most pleasure for learning
