Jazz piano is an excellent route for people who are looking for a less book-focused, more aural approach to learning an instrument. I can tutor beginners to the piano or classical-converts who are looking to experience jazz by condensing my education down into core principles. This method of learning helps you move away from the books and to start enjoying the piano with more confidence and skill. I teach with a strong emphasis on theory and aural listening and with my resources I can take you through basics to more advanced lessons. I'm also fully equipped to teach music theory classes and to tutor in GCSE and A-Level music (composition, particularly) as well as teaching early level classical piano (up to ABRSM Grade 6). These classes are designed for students with different knowledge of piano, from beginner to intermediate - advanced. Normally I use the Faber Piano Adventures method, useful for all ages and levels, but another method can be chosen depending on the learning style of each student. We start with pre-reading, introduction to the staff and reading of scores. You will learn in a fun and effective way how to read music. Also, comprehensively, you will learn about music theory and ear training. Additionally, you are free to propose songs of your liking, to learn them along with the method.
