About Me
Hi,Thanks for visiting my profile. I have been working with leather for the past 6 years after I could find a quality cell phone case that I liked. Since then I have invested countless hours and days into finding the best techniques and materials for this craft. I have my leather working studio in Helsinki.
I am very enthusiastic about this craft and I hope I can share it with others as well. I have taught workshops from one on one lessons to groups of 15 people. After moving to Helsinki, I would like to continue to share leather working with students.
I practice and teach European style leather work which is slightly different than Western Style leather work as it does not include leather carving.
Education
Self Taught in leather work for 6 years through books, videos, tutorials and of course YouTube. I also received instruction from the lead craftsman and designer at MadebyNative.Experience / Qualifications
Part Time Craftsman at MadebyNative luxury leather goods.I have worked on small scale commercial projects and collaborations for other businesses for small leather goods..

MENTORING IN ARTS : Discover how to say something through your artistic work.I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns.
In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.
You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.
Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ART: UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICEKEY OBJECTIVES:
• To introduce the right toolkit to take on contemporary art of any kind, no matter how difficult, minimal and conceptually driven it may be.
• To learn to spot and call out artwork that is being difficult or challenging because it’s a load of rubbish.
• To make you feel more confident when making and looking at contemporary art!
How can we be so categorical about something as subjective as deciding if art is ‘good’ or ‘bad’? Think of it like this: If you’re not any good at carpentry, you can still identify a poorly made coffee table. Basically, what we’re going to try to do is understand how to recognise if an artwork has been responsibly made or not. In the case contemporary art that has been made responsibly, this class will suggest that your kid could not have made it, any more than they could have removed your appendix, designed a suspension bridge or landed a crashing helicopter. In the case of art that has not been made responsibly, then yes, perhaps your kid could have made it.

Idris
Painting Tutor: Discover and develop your artistic languageI am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London.
Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don't always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you!
Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs.
The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language.
(Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.)
Have questions? Don't hesitate to message me! I can tailor a class to your needs :)

Group Creative Therapy: Story-making for WellbeingThese online workshops offer opportunity for arrival, expansion and connection through a combination of meditation, movement and story-making exercises.
Each workshop lasts 90 minutes and a typical session may include stretching and movement exercises, improvisation games, collaborative storytelling and guided meditation. Each session offers the opportunity for experiencing and practicing grounding (being connected to our present space and time) and offers us connection with our imagination, with our creativity and with the others in our group.
Testimonials from past participants:
“It feels like Vicky’s created a space that will mould itself to our shapes, rather than us having to find a way to fit in.”
“I always leave feeling like it was worthwhile and like we creatively achieved something. Even if it's something small. Very gratifying stuff for quite a short length of time.”
“It is really beneficial to have someone facilitating these thought processes in the way that Vicky does. It is evident that Vicky carefully curates these exercises to meet the mood of the 'room'.”
“I often come out of the workshops feeling refreshed - a state that is quite hard to attain during this period of lockdown and mundanity.”
