Musician and flautist for twenty years, I offer private flute lessons for children, teenagers and adults, beginners or experienced in Geneva. I graduated with a Master's degree in Pedagogy from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and give flute lessons in a music school in France as well as private lessons in Geneva. I am also a substitute at the Geneva Conservatory. I have at heart to share my passion for music and to adapt to the desires and needs of each student wishing to learn about this beautiful instrument or to improve.

Currently a student at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, I offer flute and/or music theory lessons adapted to the needs of the student and their objectives, whether simply for pleasure or as support, in view of the preparation for an exam or competition.

A professional flutist with a conservatory medal, I give jazz, classical and improvisation lessons in my music studio on the Grands Boulevards metro station in the 9th Arrdt. Hi, I am Thore. I’m a German Bachelors degree flute student at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. During my studies here I could and still can gather a lot of knowledge about methodology and pedagogy and could already make a few teaching experiences. For me teaching means learning from each other. Thus the student of course gets insight to my knowledge about music and instrumental technique but I will also learn a lot from the student about the individual factors of flute playing and music making in general. In my lessons I focus a lot on breathing and posture because for me these two are the most influential factors to healthy and beautiful playing. I am also open to incorporating the students musical interests e.g. Disney- and Pop-songs. Lessons can be conducted in Dutch, English and German.

I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

My flute lessons are available in a flexible time frame from 30 minutes to 1 hour, with a frequency of weekly or biweekly, depending on your preference. As a graduated flutist with a bachelor and master degree from the conservatory, where teaching was an important part of my education, I have experience with both group lessons and individual lessons. My method is focused on enthusiasm for music and flute playing, where I welcome every student, regardless of background, language or level. Everyone is welcome to start their musical journey with me!
