Science subjects can be difficult, but very interesting and useful once they are understood. I am a fourth year undergraduate student studying Chemistry and Chemical engineering, and I offer help with high school courses, lower year university ones, or simply tutoring for people interested in the subject. Since I have followed an engineering-based degree the first two years, I have strong bases in most of the scientific subjects, such as calculus, algebra, chemistry and biology, and am glad to help anyone that might need it to understand them better.

I know GCSE is very scary, and feeling a little behind in class can feel like you are miles behind everyone else! I am here to help teach the foundations so the more complicated application of GCSE questions starts from a basis of clear understanding of the fundamentals! I can start from any place: the beginning of your studies or help with the approaching months of exams!

Mathematics is a highly sought skill in any job or career. In my experience, the beginning of high school is when students decide if they love or hate maths; this is an important time to show them that it isn't that scary! Everything has a reason and, if you learn it right, can feel like cheating! This class helps students learn how and why mathematics works the way it does, crushes their fear of complex equations or concepts, and instills a newfound confidence and appreciation. From learning how counting works to nailing your Higher maths exam, this class is tailored to the student! Lessons are aimed at students in high school, however anyone outwith this who wants to learn about these topics is more than welcome!

I have 10 years unbroken experience teaching Maths and social sciences to high school students. Since greater proportion of the students population at the colleges are struggling in their performance in maths, I am passionate about teaching maths only for now so as to help as much maths students as possible. I make my first tutorial class to develop rapport with a prospective maths student and to enable me identify the areas they need improvement in their performance. The first half of my tuition starts with the fundamental principles of mathematics, showing the students various clues and hints to use in answering maths questions. Special reference is made to acceptable standard marking scheme so the student can understand each topic better and develop more affection for solving mathematical problems. At the second half of my teaching, several examples are worked together with the student, ensuring that the student is fully engaged in the exercises, assimilating the concepts and contributing meaningfully. At the end of the second half of the tutorial, a lot of exercises are given to students as take-home assignments. The submitted assignments are reviewed, scored before the next appointment and corrections made one-to-one with the student next tutorial session. The topics covered are not limited to the core concentration like algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics to mention a few, they extend to elementary maths. If the gap in understanding a topic is much, elementary maths is revised with the student prior to teaching any of the core maths topics.

I am offering one-on-one tutoring for A-Level and GCSE students during my postgraduate studies. I have two years of experience tutoring children and teenagers mathematics, 3 A*s in A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Economics as well as an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge. I have plenty of flexibility, particularly Sunday through to Wednesday. For new students, I tend to begin by going though the relevant curriculum and identifying strengths and weaknesses. After that, I will tailor our lessons appropriately to suit your needs and situation. For example, students earlier in their studies may benefit from reinforcing concepts learned in class, while exam strategy and worked solutions could be more productive close to the exam.
