Being able to play an instrument is a skill that benefits listeners and players themselves. I have experience working with people at different levels. My goal is to make the learning enjoyable for the student and ensure the progress is made. I spend extra time if necessary on explaining things to make sure the student understands what is required and his confidence is improved. From music theory, through composing, understanding music and practical playing, I am here to help you learn at whatever level of music you are - either if you are beginning your music journey or want to continue and progress on what you already know.

I have been playing the violin and piano for over 20 years now, graduating in 2015 from the Royal College of Music with a first-class bachelor's degree in violin performance, and have recently started an Advanced Diploma in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. I have performed extensively all over the UK as a soloist, most notably as a strings finalist on BBC young musician of the year, and at the Battle Proms concert series to audiences of up to 12,000. I've also delved into the Folk world a little and was on tv for the BBC Radio 2 folk awards as part of Jim Moray's band! I started officially teaching at 17, coaching local teachers more advanced students. From there I became Professor Berent Korfker's private assistant at 18, teaching his younger students from the Purcell School and alike. Being able to work with such talented students was extremely inspiring and excited me to start my own class with complete beginners on both violin and piano. I now have a hugely mixed class in both ability and age (4 to over 50!) with a 100% pass rate in their exams. My approach has always depended on the student's age, ability, and character. For younger students, I incorporate games, with them often wondering how the lessons finished so quickly! I like to create a fun environment for musical development where questions are encouraged, and all students are taught how to teach themselves and apply techniques learned in the lesson to the practice room.

I finished a music school and my speciality was the piano. I did an expanded course that lasted 13 years, 3-4 times per week and, of course, all included : sight reading, notation, music theory etc. Since 7 years old, I went to several national piano competitions all around the world every year until I was accepted at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. There, I’m studying vocals and music industry in general. I won a lot of first, second, grand prices as marks of my achievements. I’m from Lithuania, I was working there as a private piano and singing teacher for a couple of years. During a gap year I took, I was teaching as well. My mum is a piano teacher, I was in this sphere for all my life. As I was teaching, I had international students from Germany and Italy. It makes me experienced in English language teaching. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Hello! I've been teaching continuously for over 10 years, and I'd like to explain what you can expect from a class with me. Personalized approach: The most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I will tailor the lessons to your needs: playing for pleasure at home is not the same as preparing for entrance exams (although always with the same rigor). Your goals will influence the methodology, the organization of your studies, the repertoire, and so on. Relaxed (but rigorous) environment: Once you've defined your goals, classes will be dynamic and pressure-free. Note! "Relaxed" doesn't mean undemanding; we'll just avoid military methods—especially given my personality and sense of humor. Music, not just notes: My methods are very dynamic, with a special emphasis on hearing and musicality. No "read, play, and turn the page." I avoid approaches obsessed with reading sheet music without memorizing, listening, or understanding what is being played. I want you to own your performance and make artistic decisions. Warning! I might even make you sing. No stylistic barriers: Thanks to my training in Jazz and Modern Music, I give equal importance to all genres. I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example.
