STARTS IN APRIL (availability is from March 31st onwards) If you are serious about writing poetry, or even just a serious poetry reader, then join me for a guide to the poetry of London, while also having the chance to work together on your own writing inspired by the wanderings we will take. A particular focus will be south of the river, the docklands, and the square mile (the old city of London). Explore the worlds of - and delve into - Shakespeare, William Blake, Arthur Rimbaud and others and investigate the liminal places of London that have inspired many London poets. I will also be able to support your writing in online classes. You may have written for a long time, or just be taking a first step to find a safe environment to share your work with someone else. Writing can be such an enriching practice (which may even transform your life), but this doesn't mean it is easy or fulfilling all the way. There are bumps and blocks and tensions... one great way through them is to start to build a community... a good place to start can be to find someone to guide the process of writing and finding ways to support your creativity. I can also signpost to places to go and can guide you to group opportunities and communities, whatever your means. This is best done as a series of classes to reflect and work on your own work. I am a published poet and fiction writer and have worked as a writing tutor for 5 years. I have an MA in Creative Writing and am studying towards a PhD. I work as a writing mentor for poets and writers from many different backgrounds.

I have self-published three books, and I am currently working on another novel. I have been teaching Italian for more than 30 years. I started in Milan, I then went to San Francisco and now here in London. My first lesson with you would be to assess your level and start speaking Italian by writing in the chat if we are on Skype or on your notebook if we meet face to face. I use also paintings to explore vocabulary and if you live here in London, we would meet at the National Gallery for example and explore the Italian language through what we see in the painting.

My method is communicative, meaning I primarily encourage oral communication in my classes, analyzing documents, videos, and audio, but always with the goal of reviewing and studying grammatical structures, conjugation, and, above all, the vocabulary necessary for you to be able to converse in French-speaking environments. By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. It can also be used in addition to other documents (files printed by school teachers and/or books) and has many advantages: automatic updating, downloadable on tablets and smartphones, simultaneous monitoring of what is writing. For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The student will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, argue coherently (and convincingly) and enrich his vocabulary. It is essential for me to have written work from the student between each lesson. For analyzes of oral literary texts: In order to optimize the time available (and to put ourselves in conditions closest to oral exams), we choose together an extract from a work that the student will have previously prepared before the lesson. This would take around 20 minutes at most, and ideally just a little before the meeting time. If necessary, I have the habit of taking a paragraph at random which would serve as a basis for analyzing a passage. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

Lessons types are structured in 3 categories: 1.5-7 year olds focusing on developing literacy skills through reading, writing, speaking, listening, and games, songs and stories to make learning more fun and stress free. 2.7-10 year olds these are catch up lessons focusing on covering a clear foundation in grammar, creative writing, reading comprehension, descriptive writing and situational writing. 3.11-16 year olds fill in gaps in English lessons focusing on creative writing, essay writing, writing to persuade, advise or inform. Literature questions, fiction non fiction extract questions, reading comprehension and grammar. My teaching method is student centred using the students interests and hobbies to engage them and lead some lessons. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual student learning style and capabilities.
