Improvised dance classes - in the studio, in nature and in the water

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
We explore the body through improvised movement, with and without physical contact. Alone and in groups, we will engage in a sensory and playful approach to our environment, using our skin and our senses as interfaces and meeting spaces.
- Instant composition is an improvised dance based on presence and authenticity, combining body expression with group communication. The dancers compose with form, space, rhythm and let themselves be led into surprising and touching situations, to meet others and themselves.
- Contact improvisation is a "dance of the moment", based on the exchange of weight, body communication and a game of pure physicality. We learn to follow our spontaneous impulses and connect with ourselves and with our partner, in a climate of trust and experimentation.

The courses/workshops take place either in a studio, in nature or in a swimming pool heated to 34°C (SPA)

THE COURSES TAKE PLACE THROUGHOUT EUROPE BUT ESPECIALLY IN SWITZERLAND AND FRANCE

About Me

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Dance teacher and Watsu® and WaterDance® practitioner, I have been teaching Contact Improvisation and Instant Composition at international festivals since 2004. My enthusiasm for the organic and expressive qualities of movement led me to also train in Butoh, Authentic Movement, Body Mind Centering and tango.

My explorations of Contact improvisation in water and nature, in swimming pools, at sea, in the forest or in the desert, led me to create my own discipline, "Aquatic Bodywaves" (2017), where learning aquatic massage involves dance and improvisation.

Education

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Due to my training as a sociologist fascinated by human relationships and verbal and bodily communication, I like to combine improvised dance with a search for connection to one's deep nature, intimately linking the support of emotional processes and certain keys of tantra to my work. My teaching accompanies each person in their own discovery of vitality, authenticity, presence and openness.

MENTORING IN ARTS : Discover how to say something through your artistic work.
I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

Sruthi
Tutor in Art History as well as Drawing and painting art for Adult Learners
Art History has an interesting approach to understanding cultures and traditions. It provides an insight into human behaviour and emotion. It ties up the skill sets of an artist with history, politics and events that would have enhanced a masterpiece. Having worked as a tutor in adult learning, I can provide varied topics of study in Masterpieces, hidden secrets and political influences. As a practising artist, I can provide drawing and painting in watercolours, Acrylics and silk painting.

Elena
Ballet class (Vaganova School), audition and contest preparation for intermediate and advanced students
In addition to ballet classes and stretching, I also provide audition preparation and competition training variations. My ballet class is typically divided into two parts: Barre and Center, which include adagio, pirouettes, and jumps. We can reserve time for pointe technique upon request as well. During classes, attention is given not only to the technical aspects of the combinations provided but also to their musicality and the logic of movements. Detailed analysis is also provided on which muscles should be engaged in each movement and what sensations the student should experience when executing the steps correctly. It would be great if you could share a video of your class or variation performance before our first class. This will allow me to assess your level and make our lesson as productive as possible.

CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ART: UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICE
KEY OBJECTIVES: • To introduce the right toolkit to take on contemporary art of any kind, no matter how difficult, minimal and conceptually driven it may be. • To learn to spot and call out artwork that is being difficult or challenging because it’s a load of rubbish. • To make you feel more confident when making and looking at contemporary art! How can we be so categorical about something as subjective as deciding if art is ‘good’ or ‘bad’? Think of it like this: If you’re not any good at carpentry, you can still identify a poorly made coffee table. Basically, what we’re going to try to do is understand how to recognise if an artwork has been responsibly made or not. In the case contemporary art that has been made responsibly, this class will suggest that your kid could not have made it, any more than they could have removed your appendix, designed a suspension bridge or landed a crashing helicopter. In the case of art that has not been made responsibly, then yes, perhaps your kid could have made it.

Katarzyna (Kassia)
Icon painting with egg tempera, individual classes, historical technique
Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

Holly
Ballet Class with dancer from Matthew Bourne's company and Ballet DJKT Czech Republic, amongst others
I am passionate about working with students on developing both their artistry and technique. In this class students can enhance their existing training through personalised lessons, with a special focus on musicality, dynamics and performance in partnership with technique. I draw on my knowledge as a professional dancer to train dancers whether their goal is to work towards a career in the industry, or invest more in their passion for dance. Lessons take the form of a traditional ballet class, starting at the barre and moving to the centre (adapting to space), and include discussions to help dancers to refine their thought processes and approach. I am still a freelance performing dancer and therefore my availability is changeable.

Idris
Painting Tutor: Discover and develop your artistic language
I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don't always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.) Have questions? Don't hesitate to message me! I can tailor a class to your needs :)
