Hello there! My name is Sara and I'm a classical pianist and piano teacher. I have been a pianist for about 15 years and started teaching it a while ago as well. I offer lessons in 3 different languages ( English, Arabic and German) for both beginner and intermediate levels. I believe music should be enjoyed and comfortably played, allowing people to both connect with it and understand while challenging them to express themselves in new and different ways. Music lessons are fun and will be set to make the student confident and comfortable in their playing. If any student needs extra time or space to feel secure and safe, I will offer as much understanding and security as I can. Trust is my number one motto, if for any reason a student feels pressured or uncomfortable they can come and talk to me directly and we shall figure out a way to make music learning fun and enjoyable for them. Throughout the years I have developed piano skills with which I can play all sorts of compositions by ear as well as improvise variations based on the main structure of a piece. It will not be a "classical music lesson" although I will reference classical music and talk about music theory, music history and the physics of sound a lot. It won't have a "syllabus" either on the basis that every person needs different sets of skills to improve upon. It will be more of a discussion/dialogue accompanying the piano where we will expand on our ideas about music. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I have been teaching piano for over 20 years now. I trained at the Royal College of Music after winning a junior scholarship, where I spent 8 years studying piano, cello, music theory and choral music. My aim is for my students to enjoy the rewards and challenges of learning by making lessons fun and accessible. Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of my students. I teach ABRSM grades and all styles of music from complete beginner to advanced level.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.
