SHAPE AND VOLUME Drawing is, for me, the foundation of many creative works. We will gradually build your understanding of texture, shape, and proportion. We will work on various themes, materials, and formats. Afterward, you can choose the approach that resonates with you, and we will focus on that. For Chinese calligraphy: you don't need to understand the language to be able to appreciate the beauty of Chinese calligraphy. For me, I see Chinese calligraphy as a combination of negative space and different lines. We will start with the background story of Chinese calligraphy, and from there, you can choose which style of calligraphy you would like to develop

Understanding contemporary visual art is often not self-evident. In this lesson you will learn through the work of Andy Goldsworthy to reflect on the philosophical concepts that engage and drive the artist. You will learn a number of universal principles of looking and understanding, which you can also apply to other works of art.

Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or returning to drawing after a break, this class is designed to build a strong foundation in visual expression. Through hands-on exercises and guided practice, we’ll explore essential techniques such as line, shape, shading, perspective, and proportion. You’ll learn how to observe like an artist and translate what you see onto the page with confidence. Each session will focus on a different aspect of drawing, helping you develop both technical skills and creative thinking. From still lifes to gesture sketches, expect to grow your understanding of form and composition in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. No prior experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and something to draw with!

You will learn how to operate a camera on manual mode, either digital or analog (digital recommended). We will make photographs together on the street (majority) and in a studio of subjects including: architecture, portraits, still life, landscape, fashion and any other subjects of interest. We will work together on getting the image from the camera onto the computer in the correct format and then how edit and eventually print the image in high quality. With this we will look at different papers and the effect that they have on your image. We will cover some monumental photographers that have shaped the history of the medium and we will explore current photographers that are currently exhibiting in Antwerpen, this includes visits to Ibasho Gallery, Stieglitz19, FOMU. We will make an end product that will consist of one large print framed, a small zine based on one concept/theme. to achieve this we will work together in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

You must provide the materials yourself but I can teach you what you need to know remotely, and we can work through projects together. Hi, I’m Raji — an artist at heart and a passionate artist who believes that true expression begins with our own two hands. I am an architect and studying my master's in landscape architecture at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. From the time I could hold a pencil, art has been my language — a way to observe the world, to feel, and to create. I’ve always felt that painting on paper, with brushes and watercolors, holds a kind of magic that screens simply can’t replicate. It’s raw, mindful, and deeply human. I specialize in watercolor techniques, sketching, composition, and creative exploration — helping students of all ages unlock their imagination and connect with their inner artist.

Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don't always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.)
