I will teach you how to: - learn songs by ear, (pop, jazz r&b, funk, fusion, hip-hop, and whatever you like honestly) - improvise, - compose, - understand music theory (harmony, rhythm, scales, progressions, sight-reading etc.) - produce and sound design in Ableton. About me: Education: I started playing music at 7 years old, went through 12 years of music school, and then moved to Amsterdam and spent 4 years learning jazz guitar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I frequently play with various bands ranging from Pop and Funk to Jazz Fusion and even Techno. Teaching style: I’m open-minded and straightforward, and I focus on giving my students the tools and basics they need to learn and explore on their own.

Learning to play the guitar by yourself can be overwhelming. In my classes students go through all the necessary steps to master the fundamental guitar techniques while learning well known songs and classical pieces. Lessons are private and are adjusted to each students individual needs.

Adrian (1997) is an Amsterdam-based guitarist from Caracas, Venezuela that is part of the up-coming generation of the Dutch Jazz scene. Winner of the Erasmus Jazz Prize 2019, Adrian has performed at top festivals such as North Sea Jazz Fest, North Sea Round Town and Grachtenfestival, and has also shared the stage with established and emerging musicians such as Benjamin Herman, Stefan Lievestro and Alessandro Fongaro. Adrian (1997) started classical guitar lessons at age 11 but quickly switched to electric guitar because of his passion for rock music. At age 14, he was admitted to the TJC Music School in his hometown, Caracas, where he studied jazz guitar, graduating with honours at age 17. While living in Venezuela, Adrian started playing professionally at 16 years old, being called a “young promise”. In 2017, Adrian moved to The Netherlands to study at Codarts University of the Arts, later transferring to Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2019 to study with Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, Martijn van Iterson, Maarten van der Grinten, and many more. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you like classical, acoustic or electric guitar and would like to know how to play it? Maybe you have already started but want to improve. I am offering guitar private lessons that will be oriented to the genre you prefer. At first you will learn how to play from music scores and chord symbols. Later we will try to gain the most from your musical ear and figure out chords without any notation. Then you can also easily start to improvise.
