Beatboxing is a relatively unknown discipline, even though it allows for an absolutely incredible musical variety: percussion, whistles, bass, special sounds straight out of an alien movie... our body is an instrument in itself, and learning beatbox is accessible to everyone! (Take a look at some beatboxer videos online, you'll be amazed!) I'll take you step by step, starting with easy and useful sounds, gradually moving towards impressive, fun sounds, or those of your choice. In addition, I practice with you and complete your knowledge of music theory and particularly rhythm when necessary. I offer tools for my students to develop a strong rhythmic sense, good listening skills and knowledge of basic score reading. I enjoy developing a student/teacher relationship where students can feel comfortable playing the instrument and have joy in the process. In each individual situation, I shape my teaching to best serve the needs of the pupil, will that be following a method and going every step by the book, or take a favorite song into consideration and from there build up a workable strategy. Everything is flexible in the end, the most important is to learn while enjoying music!

Hello! I am Dohyun from South Korea. I am a second-year jazz drum student at Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I have 3 years of experience teaching drums at music schools in Korea and Vietnam. I have a background of 7 years of classical piano and I also have been studing and playing Jazz (drums) for the past 8 years of my life (currently finishing my studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I experienced studying classical piano for 5 years, classical percussions for 5 years and I'm currently studying Jazz Drums in Amsterdam. This class is for those that want to learn playing the drums in different genres. I always try to care about the student's taste, in order to keep it interesting and worth it. I can also provide classes of solfège (reading) and basic music theory notions.
