Our private lessons are usually divided in this order: 1. mental and physical check in + grounding in your instrument (which is your body) and stretching, shaking loose etc. I teach you how to stretch your tongue and why it is important. 2. Breathing! I will teach you how to breathe to your diaphragm. I will teach you how to create a breath support by breathing. This ensures that you will need much less breath and can produce much more sound! This can work wonders and I want you to experience and feel that. 3. Warming up the voice. We are going to make sounds! First we are going to wake up your voice. I will let you feel the difference between your chest voice and your head voice (and everything in between). I will teach you how to make sounds safely, sing safely without damaging your voice. I will teach you how to sing higher and lower. When I see that your muscles tense while singing, I will give you techniques to relax them. We are going to make many different sounds with a piano as accompaniment. I will explain to you why we make each sound and what this does to our voice. 4. Singing a song. You can choose a song that you like to sing. We can also choose this together. You are going to sing nicely. Your voice is already nicely warmed up. Sometimes I will interrupt you to adjust something. At the end of the lesson I will give you some homework. I always send a message to my students. Lesson duration: 1 hour or 1 hour and 30 minutes Qualifications: Professional Jazz and Soul singer. I perform in various places in and around Amsterdam. Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Hi there, I am a self taught musician who sings, play many instruments and produce my music. Have been teaching Guitar and Vocal/Ear for a while, using a creative fun method I came up with - learning through music and songs you love to develop your ear and playing/singing technic. Thanks

I learned a lot in helping. One of these things is that children learn faster through play and/or music. As a result, I have put together a special program to give children a good start in their language skills, or to help them improve them. Before the lesson starts, we will see how far developed the child is. When I have established that, we will first spend half an hour talking words based on pictures. The last hour is music central. We will choose a song together (children's songs) and learn it together. The more progress, the more difficult (language area) the songs will become.

You'll learn how to use the voice in the proper way, starting by your natural speech and developing it to find your own sound. I have experience in both Pop and Jazz styles (a Bachelor in Jazz Singing and a degree in Jazz Composition), so it's possible to study songs from both this repertoires. I also give Music Theory Lessons, to make the student develop his/her own style and musical sensibility and, in the case of Jazz, to know how to improvise on different chord changes and jazz styles.
