My experiences include teaching at primary international schools in Belgrade, Serbia for 2 years and 3 years at international schools in The Hague, Netherlands. I have worked at two IB primary schools. Alongside teaching at international schools, I have 8 years of experience teaching English. I also have experience teaching grade 1 and 3 in elementary schools in New York State. I have taught children from 2-17 years old and adults. My students range in levels from beginners who are new to learning English, to fluent English speakers that need support or would like to further excel or maintain their fluency. Based on my experiences, I have learned to adjust my teaching style based on different students' needs, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and learning abilities. Lessons are provided to children and teenagers. Lessons are customized to the learning needs of your child. Whether that be learning English for the first time or practicing improvement of speaking, reading, comprehension, pronunciation, listening, writing, grammar, etc. Lessons can be aimed towards learning a topic such as food, animals, sports, emotions, and more. For children who are fluent English speakers, tutoring can be given to further excel in particular areas. Subjects that interest the student such as science, history or world topics can be incorporated into the lesson to broaden their knowledge. Support can also be provided in learning organizational skills, research, and mini projects for older children. I am available to help with studying, homework, or school projects. For online learning, I use a variety of platforms, websites, educational games, and e-books to reach the learning goals of my students. Additional homework can be provided if requested. Trusted teacher: I am a 32-year old composer, electric guitarist and songwriter based in Den Haag, teaching composition, music theory, and score writing. I teach in English or in Greek. I am half Greek and half Scottish and I have been living in the Netherlands for the last 6 years. I offer lessons in all styles, to all age groups, and for any experience level (ranging from students who want to learn how to read and write music to create their first score, up to more experienced composers who are looking for fresh ideas and improving their skills to really make their music shine, or who are looking for help polishing their composition portfolio for entrance exams). Face to face lessons are preferable, but I also teach online. I am a patient and open minded teacher, and my desire is to help you learn what you want to learn, and make sure you enjoy and take pride in your music, explore a breadth of musical ideas that can inform your work, learn to express your musical ideas as best as possible and nurture your curiosity and excitement about the world of music creation ! You bring me the music you are creating and the skills you want to develop as a composer, and I build my lessons around that. I believe that singing is innate to all of us, and if you can speak, you can sing! My class structure depends on your goals and starting point. During your lesson, we will explore your vocal profile and your goals, and I will show some of the vocal exercises that may help you. You can also bring a song you like, and we can work on the vocal technique, text, and facial or body expression. You can then decide if we are a good fit for one another. A singing class for children is very different from a class for adults. For example, with younger children, we do more vocal exploration and movement, to ensure that they build a love for music and to protect their voice. With adults looking to audition for semi-professional to professional jobs, we work on building a practical practice plan for your own vocal gym. For vocational adult amateurs, we may work on more songs than vocal exercises. I have a Master of Music in Singing (Classical) at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and previously graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I've received training in contemporary pop singing style with Meredith Colby's Neuro-Vocal Method, and also believe in the body-based Alexander Technique method of posture alignment. I recently enrolled my daughter (Dutch native) in English lessons with this teacher and I must say, the experience has been fantastic. My daughter has learned so much in the past few weeks and it's all thanks to the teacher's fun and engaging approach to teaching. The lessons are always interactive and my daughter loves them. I've been putting off this review because I was afraid my review wouldn't be good enough to tell how great Anais is as a teacher! I've been taking lessons with her for more than 6 months now and my French has improved a lot since then. Before that I used to have classroom lessons that were "okay", but now I really feel that I'm making much more progress. Anais is a lovely person and her dynamic to teach is great, the time flies during the lessons. Totally recommend her!
