My name is Carlos, and I'm delighted to share my passion for music with you, I teach classical double bass in The Hague. I consider myself fortunate to have studied under remarkable teachers, and I am eager to pass on the insights and techniques I’ve gained along the way. My journey led me to London, where I learned from the esteemed Rinat Ibragimov and Luis Cabrera. I then continued my studies at the renowned Moscow Conservatory under the guidance of the legendary Evgeny Kolosov (who was Rinat’s teacher) and Grigory Krotenko, who both instilled in me a deep understanding of the art. For the past seven years, I have had the privilege of working as the assistant principal in the Musicaeterna Orchestra under Teodor Currentzis in Saint Petersburg. Now, I have happily arrived in the Netherlands as a freelance musician, ready to inspire and nurture talent in others. If you find yourself facing any technical or musical challenges, I’m here to help! Together, we can: - Develop a relaxed right-hand technique that will empower you to produce a rich, resonant sound with ease, all while safeguarding against injury. - Hone your right-hand skills for impeccable intonation and effortless position changes. - Train your ear for perfect pitch and intonation. - Explore legato playing and various bow strokes for expressive performances. - Refine your musical phrasing to elevate your artistry. Whether you are preparing for auditions to enter a conservatory or an orchestra, or if you are a complete beginner eager to embark on this musical journey, I am here to support you every step of the way. I offer lessons in my cozy home studio or can travel to you within The Hague. At my place, you'll find a welcoming space equipped with a double bass for you to use during our sessions, making it an ideal environment for practice and growth. Trusted teacher: I'm offering productive music lessons in a friendly environment. I'll guide your development from any level. I treat every student as an individual, and I adapt my approach accordingly - whether making music is your hobby or you have rather serious plans with it. Depending on what you aim for, I'll choose nice pieces/songs and interesting exercises. I always care about leaving my students with the necessary tools for practice on their own when I'm not around to guide them. You'll learn a stable intonation, and develop your rhythmical sense, musical interpretation, good posture, and apparatus that works for you individually. Together we can go not only for classical but also pop, rock or film music. What you might also enjoy during the lesson is playing together in a duo with me - so you can experience making music with another person, which is super fun! There is many fantastic advantages to learning music, such as the growth of your musical taste and artistic sensitivity, and as even science proves - enhancement of your brain capacity. But learning the cello or piano - the instruments that everyone wants to play ♡ - will truly inspire you by its unique sound. //Besides my main instrument lesson domain, I offer help with Music Theory, Ear Training, Solfege, and Music History// We can have lessons either in my apartment in Zeeheldenwkartier/Den Haag or at your location within the central area of the Hague.
