My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes. However, if you lack a passion for music or the instrument itself, I advise against pursuing it. He made his own notes, schedule and was very organised with his approach as a tutor. Professional, clear about his teaching methods etc,.
