What I offer: Drama School Audition Preparation Aspiring to train at a top drama school? I offer drama school audition prep, helping actors choose the right monologues, refine their delivery, and approach auditions with confidence and authenticity. Preparation for Castings & Self-Tapes Master the art of self-taping and auditioning with confidence. Whether you're preparing for a high-stakes casting or need to create a compelling self-tape for Spotlight UK, I’ll guide you through script choices, performance techniques, and the technical aspects to ensure your submission stands out. Developing a Role & Character Work Already cast in a role? Let’s dive deep into your character’s motivations, relationships, and emotional truth. I provide detailed script breakdowns and scene analysis, helping you make bold, authentic choices that bring your character to life. On-Location & On-Set Coaching & Support Acting on set comes with its own challenges. I offer real-time support for actors working on film, TV, and theatre projects, ensuring that your performance remains fresh, focused, and dynamic under professional conditions. Voice & Speech Coaching for Actors Finding your voice is essential to a compelling performance. This is not an elocution class, but rather a deep exploration of how to use your voice effectively for performance. A strong, expressive voice is key to a compelling performance. Through breath work and floor work, I help actors connect with their natural voice, unlocking greater clarity, resonance, and control. Why Work With Me? I am passionate about helping actors unlock their full potential by providing a supportive, challenging, and professional coaching environment. It might be easy to find an average guitar teacher, but genuine insight is much harder to come by - over the years, I've seen it all, and I want to use my experience to help you! ABOUT ME I am a friendly, solid, inspiring, patient, real-world music teacher, with over a decade's experience as a working, touring, studying, writing, teaching, musician! APPROACH Creating a nice atmosphere is really important to me. I'd love to know more about your goals and what excites you - your dreams might be as big as building a career in music, or as small as being able to perform a few songs to no-one but yourself and your cat. Anything and everything in between is totally valid and worth exploring! THINGS I CAN HELP WITH - How to get the most from music, whether that be through following a grade system, or just learning how to play the music you love. - Getting to that "next level" of guitar playing, wherever you are at the moment - Organising the fretboard, rhythm, inspiration, what to practice (at any level) - Providing helpful real-world context for the things you might be learning at school/college/university/YouTube - Songwriting/Arranging/Production, from very first steps to advanced concepts - Blocks/worries you might have about any aspect of music, or a kind of music coaching role (I'm not a licensed therapist but I'm here for it!) FIRST LESSON This would be an introductory session, where we get a feel for each other and what your aims are. By having a chat, I find that "what we should work on" flows pretty naturally from this, and we'd be able to set out a rough syllabus of what we would work on for the next while. FURTHER INFO/EXPERIENCE - Professional musician for over a decade, most notably touring as a guitarist with US Artists Theo Katzman and May Erlewine, as well as a Fleetwood Mac tribute show. - Taught 1-on-1 and ensemble lessons both privately and in schools, with a wiiiiide range of ability levels. - I produce and release my own original music with 17k monthly listeners. - Have worked as a session guitarist on a huge variety of genres (I can help you with pretty much any kind of music you can think of, but I'll be open and upfront with you if I feel my expertise doesn't match what you want. I'll be sorry to disappoint you that my, say, Bulgarian Folk knowledge isn't too hot...) - Have composed/arranged music for national TV ad campaigns (TUI, Redbull and Vodafone IE)

Trusted teacher: Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region. I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching. Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana. I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language. Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence. My teaching materials I use I developed whilst living in Botswana, and have already been used with my aforementioned classes. I hope they can help you too !

I had 5 lessons with Alexander to improve on my coloring and editing skills. On the first lesson, after going through the basics of coloring Alexander proposed a schedule for the next lessons which we then changed according to my needs, preferences and experience. I really appreciated this because I could raise question on issues and ask for tips on the project I was working on my own. Even outside of the lessons he replied to the questions I had. In the last lesson I finished my project. Partly due to the way Alexander sees editing as an art form which motivated me to finish it. He also gave valuable tips on how to get into the editing/coloring industry as a freelancer. Really enjoyed the lessons and might request more in the future! Thanks!

We had our very first lesson with Valentin yesterday and I have decided to continue developing my skills in French language together with him due to various reasons... First of all Valentin has all the required communication skills which makes him a desirable teacher together with his kind and friendly approach. Moreover from the very first session he started to build a structure on which we can work on together. He also seems to be a good observer who can detect and correct the mistakes I make as well as providing me the right knowledge in order to improve my French as we proceed together. I would recommend Valentin if you need assistance with learning French at any level.

It's a joy to work with Katie, she has a lovely personality and a very flexible teaching style. Apart from being a good pianist I value the fact that she is able to put music into context. She has the ability to comprehend and clearly explain the underlying musical dynamics of a piece, which allows her students to not only become better pianist but also better listeners and interpreters of music. Katie is the perfect guide for those wanting to gain a deeper understanding of music altogether.
