Who am I? Originally from Val-de-Travers, I finished my bachelor's degree in tourism in Sierre in Valais, my native language is French, but I studied in English since high school (at the age of 15). I love languages, I love practicing them and I love passing them on because they are so important for your future (travel, careers, meetings, etc.). When I was younger, I was already giving English tutoring to my best friend. I loved these moments of learning but especially of sharing which greatly helped my friend and first student. As a teacher, I want to provide support and motivation. I want to make you want to practice and improve languages, to pass on my passion to you! I have just returned from a fabulous year in London, it has only strengthened my love for the language and culture and improved my level! If you choose my English classes, this is how it will go... -First of all, due to my level (B2-C1), my courses are mainly aimed at beginners (secondary school students, high school students, all ages but beginners, etc.). -The goal of my lessons is to adapt to the needs of each person (grammar review, vocabulary, discussion to practice oral skills, preparation for a test, etc.) The first step is to get in touch and discuss YOUR needs! - Classes will be held online mainly unless we live close enough! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. I have a BA in English Literature from Aberystwyth University, an MA in Critical Theory and Creative Writing from Sussex University, and a PhD in Critical Theory and Literature, also from Sussex. I am friendly and supportive, and work with a broad range of abilities and ages. I have tutored GCSE and A-level pupils at State schools across the UK, as well as students at independent schools such as Marlborough College, Bedales, Charterhouse and Hurtwood House. For five years I was also writer in residence at Hurtwood House.
