Teaching has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I first started tutoring French and Spanish to the younger years when I was in my second year of Sixth Form college in the UK at the age of 16. My love for helping people to expand their knowledge and communication in a language only kept developing from that moment. I am Lizzie, from London, I am 22 years old and I have a BA Honors in Modern Languages, during which I completed a teaching module in my last year of university and I taught English abroad in France and Argentina in my third year. I have experience in teaching all ages, from 3 to 60! I am currently a part-time English teacher with the British Council in a university in Bogota, Colombia. I only have positive feedback from my students and their parents and this success is reflected in their improving grades at school. I also work with people with special learning needs in my classes and adapt the classes as needed. I always bring fun as well as productivity to my lessons, ensuring they are engaging and cater to the needs and preferences of each student. I am patient, enthusiastic and out-going, I believe there is no such thing as a silly question! My teaching methods include planning but adaptability, if a student on the spot says they want to work on something particular, I happily improvise and ensure they gain understanding on said topic. I like to maintain a balance of vocabulary and grammar, and mainly I focus on conversation and listening comprehension, as this is real life! I am a very creative person, I love art, music and dance. I love to explore new cultures and travel too.

Trusted teacher: In my Spanish lessons, you are the main character. Everything is personalized to you, from the content, to the pace, the activities and the interests you have. 😊 📚 These is what a Caro’s Spanish lesson looks like: ✔ Introduction and Needs Assessment: We start with a warm welcome and initiate a conversation to understand your goals, proficiency level, preferred learning style, and any specific areas you want to focus on (e.g., grammar, vocabulary, conversation skills). ✔ Customized Learning Plan: Based on the needs assessment, I develop a personalized learning plan outlining the objectives, topics, and activities for the session. Incorporating materials and resources that align with your interests, such as topics related to your hobbies, career, or areas of passion. ✔ Interactive Learning Activities: I like my classes to be engaging with a variety of interactive activities. For example: Role-playing scenarios relevant to your daily life or profession to practice conversational skills. Games and quizzes to reinforce vocabulary and grammar concepts in an enjoyable way. Cultural exploration activities, such as discussing Spanish traditions, cuisine, or literature, to deepen your understanding of the language in context. ✔ Continuous Feedback and Adjustments: Throughout the lesson, I provide constructive feedback and encouragement to support your progress. ✔Reflection and Goal Setting: Normally I finish the lesson with a brief reflection session, allowing you to share your thoughts, insights, and anything you found difficult. I look forward to joining your Spanish learning journey and making it a fun, interactive, and practical path. ✨

Trusted teacher: My French method is very didactic. According to the student, because for me each student has his or her own, their interests. For this reason, I like private classes, but also, I have a group of students so that they can interact with each other. I emphasize speaking, reading, and writing. I teach a high-quality French, for students who want in addition to having a good diction and pronunciation, can have a conversation, with a very cultured person (learning all the French conjugations and use) The other point is that I teach, not only the French language, but also the French Culture, traversed the history, geography of France, its territories and outer province of France (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Tahiti, etc ...) and of the many countries where French is spoken. French. Also with knowledge of art, literature, music, etc ... I want my students to fall in love with the French language, of course it will depend on the student, and their abilities. I use a French literature for learning, and personal document so that the vocabulary is learned as soon as possible, to make phrases and sentences. Pronunciation will be very important to me, and I am very demanding but the result will be excellent. The rest to you to discover, I hope you very soon, in this linguistic journey in the world of French History. My French method is very didactic. Camilo

My husband and I are probably considered advanced beginner Spanish speakers. We booked a week of lessons with Camilo in Medellin Colombia while we were spending time there and it was a very good experience. Camilo is not just someone who speaks the language; He is educated as a teacher and it shows. For me he did just the right amount of leading/teaching, listening, and correcting. His English is also very good, which was helpful the few times it made more sense to ask/answer in English. He is also a very nice and pleasant person to be with. I highly recommend him as a teacher and imagine that he would be just as good a teacher with true beginners as well as advanced speakers.

Karen

Not only a talented language teacher, Karen is an enthusiastic, cultured and engaging conversationalist. You may choose to just have well spirited discussion, focus on a variety of themes ranging from business oriented to purely recreational, or do a deep dive into a specific aspect of the language. If you are more than complete beginner, I'd recommend avoiding to speak a single word of English. Keen on making you progress, you may also ask her to correct all of your mistakes to avoid learning bad habits. If you are new to Bogota, she will go out of her way to make you feel comfortable in it and give you tips coming from a true local.

Juan is as much experienced in playing piano than teaching it, what makes him the kind of teacher that help you learn fast and in a very pleasant way. Piano lesson with him aren't just about moving finger and repeating things over and over, it's also about understanding things through music theory and music history, which is very important to me. He has perfectly adapted the lesson according to my taste and level and also the way I like to learn things. If you're looking for a comprehensive, experiment and pleasant piano teacher, then I highly recommend you to book a lesson with Juan!
