According to several studies, including a study conducted by Cambridge in 2022, the best method to learn a language is through immersion (exposure and engagement). This means that when we learn topics or activities that interest us, the brain activates the prefrontal cortex, the striatum, the limbic system, and the hippocampus, which are the areas of long-term memory, motivation, concentration, reward, and emotional experience. These functions together create greater receptivity to new information. It is about talking about topics that motivate and interest us to enhance learning. They are also life tools that benefit us all. The more a person opens up to talking and reflecting on their personal experiences, whether positive or negative, the more they will be able to handle life's difficulties and improve their well-being. What level should I be at? Once you understand the written and/or spoken language, and can say the basics, we can start working. It doesn't matter if your level is basic, since that's exactly what the sessions are for. Most sessions are via Zoom. The teacher will send you the link via WhatsApp or email and at the time of your session you can access it via a device. It is recommended once a week if the session is individual. You will notice that they are very complete and you may be a little tired after the session, if you are not very familiar with the language. If the session is in a group of two or more people, it can be once or twice a week. We will talk about many interpersonal topics in the session and we may follow up during the week by sharing relevant content via WhatsApp and voice notes, also in English for both parties to continue practicing fluency and vocabulary. It can be in person in Monterrey, Nuevo León in groups of 3 or more, or within the Republic for workshops.

I already had a few lessons with Sanghee and I can definitely recommend her! Her patient and interactive teaching style work very well together with her well planned, organized lessons and her nice personality. Her classes are completely in Korean so that in itself teaches you a lot and will improve your speaking abilities immediately, especially if speaking in Korean is still difficult for you. If you don't understand something she of course will switch to English. The homework also keeps my study drive going and I already have the feeling that I can express myself better in Korean. :)
