After discovering the magnificent work of Robin de Haas, I chose to train in MDH respiratory coordination in order to further refine my knowledge of the human instrument that is the voice. I am happy today to bring together all these skills in order to best support my students on the extraordinary path that is that of the voice. The lessons begin with work on breathing and posture, they continue with vocalizations across the entire range in order to equalize the registers and allow the amplification of the voice, then end with work on the scores and their interpretation. I consider myself an intermediate level singer (have had four years of opera training) so listening to feedback was challenging from a new observer. It was only the first lesson so I need to do more to gauge our compatibility but he definitely seems knowledgeable about voices and ways to improve just based off of a few sounds, which I found interesting and impressive. I articulated my goals and he believes he can help me get there. He is direct and to the point - also a quality I appreciate. We'll see. But so far so good ;)
