Often considered a tiresome burden, music theory is to music what grammar is to language. It is a tool, a code that allows us to understand how our language works. Whether you're using words or notes, it's the same! This is why it is important to learn music theory pragmatically, keeping in mind that it is here to help us understand different musical languages, not at all to impose strict rules. In fact, it would be unthinkable to learn the grammar of a language without ever seeing its relevance in everyday practice! About me: As a 25 year old pianist / drummer / composer / sound engineer / electronic producer / DJ, I offer my help to learn music theory and solfeggio, both in harmony and rhythm. Currently a 3rd year student in Sound at INSAS, I studied musicology at ULB, and I practice music on a daily basis, whether as a pianist (improvisation, composition, learning jazz and classical pieces) or as a sound engineer and beatmaker. Trusted teacher: I graduated from the music academy in Aalter in 2019 for piano. I also had a very good teacher myself, from whom I learned a few things. A first lesson always starts with a short conversation about what the expectations are that the student has and what he or she would like to be able to do at the end of the lesson or series of lessons. I like working with chords and improvising. Over the years I have developed my way of playing almost all the music you hear on the radio at different levels relatively quickly, after some practice. If you also want to be able to do this, I can certainly help you on your way and give useful tips from my own experience. Do you want to learn to play with chords yourself and receive practical tips and guidance or are you looking for coaching in learning new pieces? If you want to learn to read and play sheet music on the piano yourself, I can certainly give you a crash course and guide you through your first pieces of music. Anyone of any level can come to me, although it is recommended to have a basic knowledge of music and piano in order to work efficiently. I also have 2 younger sisters who play the piano and I regularly help them practice new pieces. I always remain patient and explain it 100 times if necessary until it is in the fingers. As a piano student I experienced myself that this is the most pleasant and best way to practice piano pieces.
