Trusted teacher: Understanding music theory is essential when becoming a musician of any kind, as it deepens one's knowledge of how exactly music works. The more one knows about it, the better they can listen to, perform and write music. In the rich history of the subject, a clear narrative of evolution can be found that shows how music has arrived at the stage it is at today, all of which can be seen in the application of music theory and how it has changed over time. This is my biggest passion, and I would love to share my knowledge with any beginners wanting to develop/strengthen their musical competency or intermediates who want to focus on a specific aspect of classical or jazz and really understand how it works. As an introduction to myself: I have studied music theory and composition for a few years in various countries at various institutions (private lessons in Düsseldorf, briefly at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and currently at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna), and have had experience in tutoring/teaching since I tutored math, history, and biology in school to friends of mine. I like to think my ability to teach comes from my parents, who are both teachers and whose passion for helping others learn definitely influenced me! I have experience with teaching children, where I helped many younger students with playing music when I was in high-school, meaning I know how to make learning a fun process for just about anyone. Music and teaching are two of my biggest passions, and I have been told that is quite noticeable simply upon meeting me, as my enthusiasm is very contagious. I guarantee that every student will receive their very own lesson plan catered exactly to what the student wishes or needs to learn, and what I believe the best way to learn it would be. Lessons could cover categories such as: - Learning music notation in all its different forms and how to read scores from solo instruments to extremely large ensembles (learning the skills of instrumentation and arranging as well) - Music history and the analysis of works from notable composers from any era of classical or jazz - Music theory essentials that are likely to come up on any music theory test such as four part writing, figured bass, any form of cadence, writing traditional melodies and countermelodies - Composition techniques used throughout history and how one can use the music of the past to influence the music of the future. The lesson plan will also be adjusted to make sure that learning is happening at a pace that works with the student. There can be regularly scheduled tests for the student in any of the different categories mentioned above in order to ensure that the student fully understands what is being taught. Music is one of the greatest things in the world, and I can safely say that being able to help others learn all the amazing components of music as I have is something I take incredibly seriously. I will make sure that whether after one lesson, ten, or twenty, you will come away from this knowing more than you did before.

Trusted teacher: After dedicating 14 years to mastering the guitar, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of guitar playing, encompassing both foundational techniques and advanced music theory. In these lessons, I'll be sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over this extensive period of learning. I will be covering a broad range of guitar techniques, including fingerpicking, strumming techniques, major and minor chords, power chords, barre chords, riffs, scales, finger warm-ups, practising any song of your choice, string bending, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, strumming patterns, and slides. All are provided with diagrams etc. For music theory, I will begin by covering the fundamentals, including notes, strings, and the musical 12-note chromatic scale alphabet on the guitar. As students progress, we will delve into more advanced topics such as tones, semitones, chord progressions, circle of fifths, scale formulas and chord terminology. Additionally, we will explore concepts like consonance and dissonance and pitch practice to develop relative pitch. (You have to be born with perfect pitch but you can learn relative pitch with practise!) Then advancing to jazz theory, we'll explore; jazz scale formulas, jazz chord progressions, swing techniques, major and minor 7th chords, major and minor 9th chords, dominant, augmented, half-diminished, diminished, sus2 and sus4 chords. And then jazz scales and the art of re-harmonising a song (changing the chords to jazz chords). All music theory will be intertwined with guitar practice as both can't be done without the other! One observation I've made while learning guitar through lessons is that information is often doled out incrementally, making it feel like a breadcrumb trail. Guitar knowledge and skills seem to be closely guarded and usually gatekept unless actively sought out. I strongly believe that the extensive knowledge I've acquired over 14 years of playing should be fruitfully shared in a more comprehensive and accessible manner, of course while being tailored to the pace of the students. In essence, I'm convinced that the depth of my understanding I've gained could be effectively conveyed and learnt within a two-year timeframe without including the time it takes to master the skill with practice, of course, I'd like to make it easier for people to learn the guitar and the theory behind it. I have also graduated with a distinction for my Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Course and a distinction in Fashion Communication which included my music playing at Central Saint Martins. I also have experience teaching guitar in London and Bristol before. The lessons will be taught in English so practising your English with me is also a plus, a foundational knowledge of English is required to take the lessons.

Trusted teacher: Personalized mentoring over a period of 9 months. 3⁄4 online and 1⁄4 in person. Singing is for me a tool of knowledge and openness to Self. It is accessible to all and I accompany with all my heart people who wish to begin this path of self-discovery by singing with me. We will have 15 meetings of approximately 1 hour spread over the period. I stay in touch with you by email, Whatsapp to discuss your inspirations and answer your questions outside of our sessions. I provide you with soundtracks and exercises that you take the time to do between sessions. EXPLORATION ACCEPTANCE STATEMENT These are the 3 modules we will go through during this mentoring. Exploration - Phase during which we do the most vocal exercises. I will discover your voice with you using various 'traditional' vocal exercises and over the sessions we make the link with the different emotions and possible blockages that can be released to give way to your voice. expand. Acceptance - With what was discovered in the first phase, we begin to create your song little by little. A song that looks like you and that will be a support for you to connect to your essence. Whether you want to become an artist or not, singing your own song is something magical within everyone's reach and a real boost for you. No prerequisites necessary, with my knowledge and experience, I guide you through the creation process and the song takes shape naturally throughout the process. You just have to let yourself be carried away! Affirmation - We finish your song, we work on the confidence to deliver it, the interpretation and the vocal placement. We finish the accompaniment by recording your own song in a professional studio and you come out with your own song. I am there throughout the session with you to put you at ease. I called this process ECLOSION because in my case, when I compose my songs, I feel my whole body and my heart vibrate. I also notice it in the people I work with. When someone sings her own song, with her heart there is an outbreak that happens. I would be happy to accompany you in this process, no matter what stage you are at if these words speak to you. Whether you have absolutely no experience, whether you like your voice or not, whether you want to become an artist but don't know where to start, I'm here to guide you. Warmly, Anne Laure

Trusted teacher: Hello, welcome to my ad! My name is Matéo and I am 26 years old. I have been playing guitar for 9 years and teaching it for 5 years. After studying at the conservatory and music school, I obtained my Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) specializing in jazz guitar. Over the years, I have been able to accompany around forty students, both in private lessons, group lessons and at the conservatory where I teach today. OPTION1) The course I offer is aimed at beginner to intermediate level guitarists, of all ages (children too!), in acoustic and electric guitar. My goal is to give you the essential basics of the instrument (body position, technique, chords) as well as an understanding of fundamental musical concepts (rhythm, ear, reading tablature and/or music theory) which will be very useful to you as a musician. We will base our learning as quickly as possible on real pieces of music, if possible suggested by the student because I think that learning by playing the music you like is the most motivating method. As a teacher, I have always adapted as best I could to each profile to make them learn in the way that suited them best, make them play the music they like, help them with their difficulties and push them to surpass themselves in their abilities. Finally, I always make sure that the lessons take place in a calm and pleasant atmosphere so that the student progresses at their own pace and learns while having fun. OPTION 2) This course is for intermediate to advanced guitarists (and musicians in general) who want to acquire a deeper understanding of music theory. What we can cover, depending on your needs: analysis, harmony, composition, transcription, improvisation, music theory, ... Lessons can take place at my home, in the 15th arrondissement, or at the student's home where I can travel (for an extra) within a reasonable radius. Declared via CESU (Universal Employment Service Check) or self-employed invoice.

Trumpet(Technique, Jazz Improvisation) for all levels (Amsterdam)
Oleg
I have been playing trumpet for about 5 years, growing every time. I wanted a new trumpet teacher to help my trumpet technique and skill of improvisation. From the first lesson I really liked Oleg. He has a natural way of teaching, is very knowledgeable, and respectful to your level. He is really a good teacher, and worth signing up with. Recommend 100%. I am still happily going to Oleg, every week!

Cello classes for all levels, all ages, classical/jazz/pop (The Hague)
Elsa
We had Elsa in for a lesson as my son's usual cello teacher was not feeling well. Elsa was prompt in responding, punctual and most importantly, taught my son effectively. We are very happy with her and will not hesitate to call on her the next time we need her assistance again.
