Trusted teacher: I have deeply enjoyed Australian and European History since high school, where I received top marks, through university to the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. I am most familiar with Australian history from European arrival, through Federation and the conflicts of the 21st century, through to present day. However am always trying to improve my knowledge of Indigenous history. I have also studied extensively Australia's global relationships over time, with countries such as the UK, the US and China. Regarding European History, I am familiar not only with the impact of wider trends such as the printing press, reformation, industrialization and colonization across history but also with the specific histories (and personalities that make them) of the UK, France, Germany, Russia and Spain. I have deeply enjoyed US History since high school, where I received top marks, through university andto the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. I am most familiar with mainland history from US Independence to the present day, however am always trying to improve my knowledge about Native American history, and the territories. I have also studied extensively the impact of the US on the wider world and its relations with the global community. I believe it is important to teach history from a wide variety of perspectives. In recent years, I have particularly tried to focus on history retold from the perspective of those left out of the traditional view, which is really just anyone who isn't a white, upper-class, European male. This broader and more complex view of history leads to a more nuanced understanding of the past, particularly from a social perspective.

I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary which my students can use to develop essays, essay plans, revision tools, and exam revision packs. – I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli. – I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing short points of rest or temporary closure, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. Trusted teacher: German: Hello, my name is Jael, 23 and I look forward to helping people in their endeavors to learn to speak, write and read English. Of course, I also offer tutoring for other subjects and can also try to help out with other subjects on request. I spent over two years in the center of the UK - the West Midlands - as a youth and school social worker and teaching assistant. During this time I discovered my love for the English language and culture and for teaching in general and I hope to instill this love in others too. Learning a language should be fun and exciting. Difficulties you may have are easier to overcome together, and being able to speak the language together is very useful to become fluent and improve your pronunciation. In class, I focus on what suits you best and what you need - help with homework, exam preparation or training in spelling, grammar, speaking and more. Depending on your specialization or language level, we may choose to work through specific exercise books that can be purchased online, or we may work based on free resources or your own school supplies. I strive to individualize the teaching and methodology to best serve you and the teaching will always be a two-way relationship. I hope to get to know you soon and make progress together. Tuition in Violin/Viola Performance, Musicianship, Music Theory, and Music History (Barnsbury)
Daniel
My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!

Jael
Jael has an excellent pronunciation in English. I could not differentiate it from a native speaker. Her general awareness is great in many different topics, so discussions are always interesting.
