I have taught English in Portugal and Spain, young and old, also preparing students for the Cambridge, FCE, CAE and CPE exams, with excellent results. My main objective is the development of speaking, pronunciation and fluency skills, both with children and adults. That is why I use the direct method and the communicative method. I really enjoy training people of all ages and different levels. As a teacher, I try to understand the learning style and interests of each of my students. My classes are well structured, but they are also fun, I integrate different activities and teaching techniques in order to reach all students. I use a variety of learning sources: books, additional material, multimedia and create a warm and friendly environment in the class paying attention to the individual development of each student. I am patient, loving and positive, I plan well-thought-out interactive activities, which I guide properly while giving much freedom. For adults I offer conversation classes, using the direct method, which will help students be confident and fluent in speaking English fairly quickly, even if they don't have time to study hard. In webcam classes (Skype for example) I offer structured material, upload PDF documents, text and grammar exercises, as well as links to listening practices. It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

After my first lesson with Benson, i have felt more confidence in my skills with chemistry than i have in many years. Where I previously felt very subconscious and unable to answer questions, i have now been able to answer difficult IB exams questions with ease. Benson provided me a safe and comfortable environment which has left me excited for my next class at school to show what i have learned with a fresh confidence! I highly recommend this tutor to anyone who struggles with confidence in both themselves and their subjects.

Rayen made an effort to contact me prior to the lesson to determine my level and inquire what I wished to focus on. She also called at the agreed upon time. These may seem like minor details, but not all teachers do these. She had appropriate level material ready to share and go over for the lesson. She made corrections as needed and readings were repeated as necessary. My only suggestion would be that she speak a bit more slowly. but this is a matter of individual taste.
