Hello! I’m Zakaria Bhaidka, a dedicated English Language and Literature tutor with experience working with students across GCSE, KS2, KS3, and KS4 levels. I am passionate about helping each student reach their potential and gain a genuine appreciation for English. With experience supporting students of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), I take pride in tailoring my approach to fit each learner’s unique needs. I’m familiar with popular resources, like CGP revision guides and key GCSE texts, which I incorporate to make each session effective, enjoyable, and closely aligned with the curriculum. Working with SEN students has taught me the value of patience, adaptability, and creating a supportive learning environment. I’m focused on building confidence and trust, so each student can feel at ease, engaged, and open to learning. My background includes mentoring and tutoring young people as well as taking care of children with special needs while working with SNUFS (special needs under fives). This strengthened my ability to connect with students and make learning approachable. **About the Class** In this class, I provide targeted support for students preparing for their GCSEs or seeking to strengthen their English skills at KS2, KS3, or KS4. My lessons cover critical areas such as reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing, and analysis, all tailored to each student's abilities and learning style. For GCSE students, I am well-versed in the curriculum and commonly studied texts like *Macbeth*, *An Inspector Calls*, and key poetry anthologies. I integrate these materials into lessons to ensure students not only understand the content but also develop strong exam skills through practice exercises and mock exams. Familiarity with past paper questions allows me to prepare students for exam-style scenarios and boost their confidence. For younger students, I focus on building a strong foundation in reading, grammar, and writing. I design interactive, creative exercises to spark a love of English and critical thinking that will benefit them long-term. For students with SEN, I adapt my teaching techniques to be accessible and flexible, using a variety of learning methods and pacing the sessions in ways that suit each child. My approach is friendly, encouraging, and tailored to support each student in achieving their goals, whether they are looking to boost their grades or grow in their love for the subject. If you’re looking for a committed tutor who understands both the curriculum and the importance of individualized learning, please reach out—I’d love to help your child succeed in English.

I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have taught students both in person and remotely, planning lessons using virtual presentations, activities and resources both in the UK and abroad. I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride myself on being an attentive listener and carefully adapt to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN and ESOL pupils. I have previously volunteered as a mentor with charities such as Al Muntaha Tutoring and Debate Mate, providing mentorship, relevant advice, and support to young people. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths. Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they are specifically struggling with, or helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have - I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Trusted teacher: I tutor GCSE English Language and Literature. I am a 22 year old woman who lives in Manchester and I have a passion both for school and for teaching. I loved my time at school and worked very hard to get pretty much all A*s in my GCSEs and A Levels. While I was able to achieve great results it was not without a lot of hard work. I was diagnosed with Dyslexia very late into doing my GCSEs which was a shock. I felt like it explained the disparity I was experiencing through what I was able to produce verbally in class to what I was able to do in exams. However, I felt like it meant that I was just never going to get the grades that I desired. This was not the case. It simply forced me to learn other methods of learning the syllabus beyond mainstream teaching. When I was able to figure out how to do things in a more out of the box way I loved school and learning even more as it felt like it was more accessible to me. This has given me such an edge with my teaching now as I am able to teach the mainstream way of learning something while also dipping into my extensive tool box of methods that worked also for me. Since leaving school I have taken two teaching assistant positions at primary schools. I have also been apart of a Saturday homework club where I have helped children from the ages of 4-16 do their work. I loved this. I love helping people and love showing them that education can work for everyone. This tutoring group also led me to do more one to one tutoring sessions in GCSE History, RE, English Language and Literature. I am currently doing a Philosophy degree at the University of Manchester. While it is not English it is very literature and essay based so the skills that I have learnt are still used daily in my writing. My lessons are online but I do not find that it hinders the learning at all. In fact I believe it just makes it easier for all involved. (However, if you do live close by I am willing to commute). My typical lessons are very structured but informal, however, I change my lesson style depending on the needs of my students. Being dyslexic myself, but also working with many children with special needs, I am able to tailor towards anyones requirements. Look forward to hearing from you!
