I began my journey in nutrition through an internship with the provincial health government in Pontevedra, Spain, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience. Afterward, I worked with numerous clients as a dietitian in Spain, helping them achieve their health goals through personalized nutrition plans. For the past five years, I have also been working as a chef, specializing in preparing meals for sensitive populations and individuals with food pathologies, ensuring that even those with specific dietary needs can enjoy healthy, delicious meals.In addition to my work in nutrition, I have a passion for teaching Spanish. I have helped children with homework and exam preparation, and since moving abroad, I’ve been teaching or reinforcing the Spanish language for kids, creating a fun and interactive learning environment.

My name is Uxía, and I am originally from Galicia, located on the northwest coast of Spain. I have been living in Finland for over 5 years. I am a native speaker of both Spanish and Galician, and I am also fluent in English. Additionally, I speak Finnish, although not as fluently. I hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in dietetics, and I currently work as a chef in schools while going through the process of getting my qualifications recognized.
Are you interested in learning Spanish or improving your conversational skills? Then I’m the right person for you! I am very chatty and extroverted, but also patient and calm. My lessons are tailored to each student, based on their needs and goals. Whether you want to focus on grammar, vocabulary, or conversation skills, I can adjust the lessons accordingly.
I am also experienced in working with children and adolescents, as I frequently interact with them in my work. Additionally, as a dietitian and chef, I would be happy to offer Spanish cooking lessons while teaching the language, or share tips on healthy food and cooking—all while practicing Spanish. I truly believe the best way to learn is by having fun!
Lessons can be held online, in a café, or at my place (if you choose the latter, I hope you like cats, as we have two little ones!).
