Ancient language courses (Ancient Greek and Latin) all levels
The ancient languages that I teach, namely Latin and Ancient Greek, are languages that, at first glance, may seem difficult to learn. It is true that they are not simple if the right methods are not used. It seems to me that in teaching them, my first objective would be to show that there is nothing insurmountable, and that everyone has qualities that allow him to confront both ancient languages and Greco-Roman cultures and civilizations.
I therefore propose a methodical approach. The advantage of such courses, outside the purely academic context, is that one can progress at a slower pace without being ineffective. It will therefore be necessary to take the time to explain again what has not necessarily been understood, and to value what has already been acquired in order to ensure the progress of the pupil.

About Me
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
My name is Maxime, I am 19 years old, I am a literary CPGE (A/L) student, specializing in Modern Letters. I obtained a literary baccalaureate with honors TB, with a 20/20 in oral French, a 16/20 in writing in first.My favorite subjects are French/literature, and philosophy, but I am perfectly able to teach languages (English, German, Latin, ancient Greek), history, geography at a high level.

I passed the baccalaureate exam in the literary section, with high honors, then I joined a preparatory class for the major literary schools (CPGE A/L) in which I am in second year, specializing in Modern Letters.Experience / Qualifications

I already have experience as a private teacher, with students who had specific needs in English, French and philosophy.The French Baccalaureate exams require a thorough preparation of the curriculum and the issues of the subject, and it is difficult to know the authors and the method of the exams in force. That is why I propose a methodical preparation for the exercises of the dissertation, the stylistic commentary, as well as the grammar questions asked in the oral baccalaureate. But at the same time, I am able to lend my help to college students as well as students. Indeed, my three years of literary preparatory class specializing in Modern Letters allowed me to become familiar with the various practices and ways of working that I am inclined to apprehend.
But this is obviously inseparable from a course based on discussion and exchange, and the pleasure of understanding progressively, building confidence in oneself and one's abilities. Working in the literary field is not easy. But taking classes outside the school context allows you to take the time to revisit the fundamentals when necessary, but also to work more freely and relaxed on the points on which the students want to revisit.
Trials of philosophy are hard times to face. They require great qualities of reflection and abstraction. And one can quickly feel overwhelmed by the concepts to be treated and the exercises to be practiced. That is why I propose a methodical approach that is intended to be reassuring, particularly for the baccalaureate. That is to say, I will do my best to value your strengths, because you necessarily have them, and develop them over the weeks to guarantee you a progression that allows you to confront the expectations of the exercises of the dissertation and of the explanation of the text, with which my years of study in the preparatory literary class have familiarized me.
I don't pretend to replace a real teacher, and I think that's a good thing. This allows us to work in a form of proximity, and to escape from the overly strict framework that is usually found in high school or faculty classes. A good mood is in order, because I think it can be an advantage.

Student teaches LATIN METZ (and surroundings) all levelsI am a senior high school student in Metz and had 20 in the Latin baccalaureate last year. Specialization in Literature and Classics, with a C1 in English. I go to prep next year and offer myself video or "real" for private or group lessons!
In terms of method:
I assume that if you come to take lessons it is because the academic method has not enabled you to understand, so depending on the age of the person concerned, I vary! However, I consider that like any musical instrument, learning is done over the long term on a regular basis so that it becomes "natural". Thus, the video or face-to-face lessons that you take will be doubled as a newsletter which, depending on your availability, will be sent out every week in order to continue progress without having too much effort at the same time. I consider that struggling to understand for 1 hour per week does not allow you to quickly and simply acquire a good level in the subject in question. Suddenly, it is all a work upstream and over the long term that will be carried out according to your desires and needs. However, these are by no means "homework". These are small activities sent by email at a regular pace to have fun at the same time learning outside the classes that I offer. For example, it can be coloring pages to learn vocabulary, stories (podcast) to familiarize yourself with the automatism of Latin (a subject that you will see will turn out to be very mathematical), books for older children or crosswords for more advanced followers.

Workshop on Latin American Literature: A tour of the literary expressions that make noiseThe course aims to provide an insight into the most widely read texts of contemporary Latin American literature, improve the communication skills of those interested and broaden the cultural horizons of participants.
A program of more or less canonical literature is proposed at first, followed by readings proposed by those interested: We will cover the works of Cortázar; Juan Rulfo; García Márquez; Borges; Cercas; Grandes; García Montero; Zambra; Dalton; Junot Díaz.
The course is held in Spanish but presentations can be made in English or Italian.
The schedule can be agreed.
I hope you like it!

Non-academic Latin lessons. Multilingual teacher with 9 years of experience. Pronunciation, historical linguistics, conceptual semantics.Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart.
I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches:
If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options:
1) Learn the schedules by heart.
2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m.
In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster.
My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results.
Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind.
I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics.
What will not be the subject of the course:
learn lists of verbs;
learn lists of nouns with their gender;
learn words with their translations;
memory card game;
doing school exercises;
follow the program in a notebook;
impose French grammar on the Latin language.
What matters to me in particular:
motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm;
encourage creativity;
make friends with language;
letters and their sounds
strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop;
teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart;
explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible;
breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ;
place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
In the context of a first course, you can get a well-founded idea of my pedagogy.
I look forward to meeting you.

38-year-old PhD student offers classes and tutoring at secondary and university levels for any area of HumanitiesI have taken a few years off to complete my PhD in History and I would not like to stop teaching and learning in the meantime. I guess it is a cliché, but it is amazing what I have learned by teaching. If anything can distinguish me, it is that my personal experience has shown me that, when it comes to learning, complexities such as age are simply that. Experience in national and international schools. Possibility of classes in English (C1).

I am now offering GCSE English Language and Literature Tutoring :)I tutor GCSE English Language and Literature. I am a 22 year old woman who lives in Manchester and I have a passion both for school and for teaching. I loved my time at school and worked very hard to get pretty much all A*s in my GCSEs and A Levels. While I was able to achieve great results it was not without a lot of hard work. I was diagnosed with Dyslexia very late into doing my GCSEs which was a shock. I felt like it explained the disparity I was experiencing through what I was able to produce verbally in class to what I was able to do in exams. However, I felt like it meant that I was just never going to get the grades that I desired. This was not the case. It simply forced me to learn other methods of learning the syllabus beyond mainstream teaching. When I was able to figure out how to do things in a more out of the box way I loved school and learning even more as it felt like it was more accessible to me. This has given me such an edge with my teaching now as I am able to teach the mainstream way of learning something while also dipping into my extensive tool box of methods that worked also for me. Since leaving school I have taken two teaching assistant positions at primary schools. I have also been apart of a Saturday homework club where I have helped children from the ages of 4-16 do their work. I loved this. I love helping people and love showing them that education can work for everyone. This tutoring group also led me to do more one to one tutoring sessions in GCSE History, RE, English Language and Literature. I am currently doing a Philosophy degree at the University of Manchester. While it is not English it is very literature and essay based so the skills that I have learnt are still used daily in my writing. My lessons are online but I do not find that it hinders the learning at all. In fact I believe it just makes it easier for all involved. (However, if you do live close by I am willing to commute). My typical lessons are very structured but informal, however, I change my lesson style depending on the needs of my students. Being dyslexic myself, but also working with many children with special needs, I am able to tailor towards anyones requirements. Look forward to hearing from you!

Oxford Classics Graduate offering Latin Language tuition from scratch up to A-Level standardAs a recent Oxford Classics graduate, I am keen to share my love of Latin and the Latin language with any would-be enthusiasts.
I have experience in tutoring Latin from scratch to A-Level equivalent standard.
In these classes, I'll focus on equipping my students with the necessary tools to master grammar and build up their vocabulary repertoire.
We'll focus on strengthening our understanding of the building blocks of the language - noun declensions, verb conjugations, participles and the like - before moving onto more complex syntax such as subjunctive clauses.
My lessons take an active approach so alongside the grammar tables we'll also translate passages of Latin, and I might throw in a fun fact or two!
Elise
French private lessons by university graduate in LettersHolder of a Master's degree in Letters and endowed with a solid experience in private lessons, I provide French lessons for students wishing to:
- consolidate their bases in grammar, spelling
- improve their language skills (allophone students)
- improve their speaking skills (conversation classes)
-profect the written expression
- prepare for ECR exams
- prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion)
- help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation
- work on argumentative texts
- acquire a method to analyze literary texts
- learn how to perform bibliographic research
The course material is a Google Docs document that I create in which my explanations, possible links, exercises appear. By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. It can also be used in addition to other documents (files printed by school teachers and/or books) and has many advantages: automatic updating, downloadable on tablets and smartphones, simultaneous monitoring of what is writing.
For help with writing:
The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The student will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, argue coherently (and convincingly) and enrich his vocabulary. It is essential for me to have written work from the student between each lesson.
For analyzes of oral literary texts:
In order to optimize the time available (and to put ourselves in conditions closest to oral exams), we choose together an extract from a work that the student will have previously prepared before the lesson. This would take around 20 minutes at most, and ideally just a little before the meeting time. If necessary, I have the habit of taking a paragraph at random which would serve as a basis for analyzing a passage.
For the corrections of end of studies work:
so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting.
Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone.
For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages.
For adults (FLE):
In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website).
The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling.
Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

Proofreading and correction of written work such as mature work, end-of-study dissertations, internship reportsI offer careful proofreading, both in terms of content and form, of written work such as internship reports, senior work, end-of-study dissertations, dissertations, comments or reading sheets.
I correct language errors: grammar, syntax, language register, spelling. I also suggest possibly bringing in other sources and rectifying the structure of the work if necessary.
