Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. According to several studies, including a study conducted by Cambridge in 2022, the best method to learn a language is through immersion (exposure and engagement). This means that when we learn topics or activities that interest us, the brain activates the prefrontal cortex, the striatum, the limbic system, and the hippocampus, which are the areas of long-term memory, motivation, concentration, reward, and emotional experience. These functions together create greater receptivity to new information. It is about talking about topics that motivate and interest us to enhance learning. They are also life tools that benefit us all. The more a person opens up to talking and reflecting on their personal experiences, whether positive or negative, the more they will be able to handle life's difficulties and improve their well-being. What level should I be at? Once you understand the written and/or spoken language, and can say the basics, we can start working. It doesn't matter if your level is basic, since that's exactly what the sessions are for. When you try to create a statement with interesting content, the areas of the brain that promote learning are activated. Here, through the chat, pronunciation and grammar are corrected, new vocabulary is added, and the correct way to say what is desired is taught. The person is asked to repeat the statement "correctly" and that's how learning takes place. How long will it take to see changes? The time varies for each person, as it depends on their initial level, and if the method is compatible with their way of learning. If the session is in a group of two or more people, it can be once or twice a week.
