Percussion/Drum Kit Private Lessons California City, CA

My name is Jamie and I have been playing drum kit and percussion instruments for over 20 years. I'm well versed when it comes to techniques, rudiments, various styles of music, reading music, writing music, and teaching. At the age of 16, I was not only in three band classes in high school, but was a member of two community groups, Little London Winds and Pikes Peak Philharmonic. Additionally, I've played percussion in orchestra pits for community theater productions for seven years. In 2012, I continued to play with various community concert and orchestral groups, all while coaching my old high school's drumline. In 2015, I joined the military but that didn't stop me from teaching. From 2018-2019, I coached a local high school drumline in Washington State who won an award at regionals for the first time in the schools history. Still in the military, in 2023 I relocated to California City, CA with hopes to tech aspiring individuals.

Drum Kit:
I started playing drums when I was six years old and am well versed in all styles of music. You, your child, your teen, or whomever you're looking into classes for will learn to read music, techniques, rudiments, and fundamentals. First, we start with the basics and build from there. It may seem boring or lack luster at first, but trust me, once you get the hang of the basics, the fun really begins. These lessons will also help if your teen is in the high school Jazz Band.

Percussion/Marching Band:
Recently, I have learned that the middle school in town has cut their music program, leaving teens to not be able to get the proper experience and musical education before going to high school. I want to help with that in any way I can. By working with me, your child or teen will be able to work up to the experience needed to get them through high school level classes and extra curricular activities. Since these lessons are to get your kid up to speed, I will be recommending books that they should be practicing will. During the lessons, I will bring my own but for them to get the proper practice, I highly suggest having copies of the books at home and a practice pad.

Both:
Most students who want to learn drum kit, end up playing percussion in school. For students that want to learn both, they'll get both percussion and drum kit lessons at no extra charge. The lessons will be formed around the student's needs for that week. For example, if they have an audition or a test, we will work on that for 45min then finish with drum kit for some fun.

My job as a private teacher is to help you, your kid, whomever with what ever they need. I do not have a strict curriculum, but I do plan my lessons around the student, their skills, and goals in order to help them be the best they can be.

Eva
Japanese Taiko Drumming (Online and Real Life Lessons)
Taiko Drumming is both a traditional instrument and an innovative medium for making contemporary music. I am Eva, a professional Taiko Drummer, and I have playing the Taiko drums for 30 years. Lessons will be taught online on weekdays and on-site in central Tokyo on weekends, in groups. Private lessons can be arranged upon request. Here is my profile: Born in Tokyo, Japan, Eva was raised by a family of scholars and artists with mixed German and Japanese heritage. From a young age, she learned how to play piano after her father introduced her to classical music, while she simultaneously learned Taiko after her mother introduced her to the Japanese arts. After graduating from the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan, she attended Cornell University in New York, USA, where she earned a B.A. in Philosophy. While attending Cornell, she joined the Cornell University Percussion Ensemble. The following year, she co-founded the Taiko drumming student organization called Cornell Taiko (YAMATAI) and she was the lead drummer and Musical Director. After graduating from Cornell at the young age of 22, she returned to Japan and started performing professionally. She started her solo career a year later. Eva is also trained in Japanese folk dance (with a focus on male styles) and has a passion for street dance and locking. She joined an Awa dance team affiliated with the prestigious Koenji Awa Dance Association and made her way to become one of the top female dancers in Japan. Today, she brings Japanese taiko drumming and song to a brand new context of pop music and also performs with many distinguished artists, musicians, dancers, and Taiko drummers across multiple genres. Eva does not only perform using taiko, she also uses a number of other instruments that have a distinct flavor of the Japanese environment including Koto (Japanese Harp), Voice, and Piano. Eva also works in the field of education and teaches taiko drumming workshops to both children and adults and is also involved in humanitarian efforts such as raising awareness for the disabled. Her music, dynamic performances, and selfless spirit continue to inspire not only her many fans but all who witness her performances all over the world. In 2023, her original music was published by Harper Collins Publisher and she was also the cover image of their music textbook. In 2024, her original music was utilized by Cambridge International Curriculum, used in over 160 countries and 10,000 schools, which sets a global standard for education, and is recognized by universities and employers worldwide.

Music lessons: drums, percussion, rhythmic music theory...
Hello, I offer drums lessons in a warm place or at your home. Come and discover the battery differently. My mission is to help you develop your own identity on the instrument. I offer you a fun approach that focuses on the pleasure of playing. Having followed training and courses throughout my life (conservatory, schools ...), I am passionate and dedicated to sharing all of my experience with you. I practice in many music groups and other structures (schools, associations ...). With more than 20 years of experience in drums and more than 10 years in percussion, I teach many musical genres (jazz through Latin music, pop, hip hop, rock, hard, punk, metal ..) , the double pedal, notions of music theory, rhythmic reading. Possibility of taking percussion lessons (darbuka, bongos, African djembe, congas, jaw harp, dhol). The programs are directly inspired by internationally recognized methods, thus being able to adapt to the needs, levels and requirements of each individual. I travel but I also receive in a room with equipment available (any age and level of practice are allowed, from initialization to professionals). A different approach to music lessons: My teaching is resolutely modern. Classes are a moment of musical and human sharing where error is used as a positive experience to move forward. We work by oral transmission to complete the scores. We use onomatopoeia to quickly develop musical and felt play, rather than just reading and playing. So ... Tempted? No excuse, I give you couses from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 11 pm. FROM child (from 5 years old) to senior, and from beginner to professional. Registration possible all year round. Contact me for more info on prices and formulas ... See you soon,

Philippe
Drum lessons in Brussels for all ages and levels
Trained at the conservatory, then at the Progressive Drum School, I then sought to improve myself by taking private lessons from references such as Loïc Pontieux, Franky Costanza, Kevin Reveyrend or Franck Aghulon. I have taught drums and music theory to students of all ages, all levels and in different contexts: recreational practice, exam preparation, putting on shows. I have also conducted musical workshops for organizations such as youth centers, elementary or nursery schools, and social centers, for projects ranging from musical awareness to the production of shows or music videos. I therefore have very comprehensive teaching experience and know how to adapt to different audiences. Now being a full-time professional musician, I also want to share my professional experience with students. During my teaching career I have questioned myself a lot about the problem of the teaching method because there is no single model of student and giving a course is not just giving a list of exercises. So I try to understand the student and advise him on the best method and the best pace of practice.

Egon
Graduate of the CRR and student at the Royal Conservatory, gives lessons for beginners, amateurs and advanced students.
One of the goals of the course? to pass on my passion and make music. Together, whether you are beginners or experienced, we will explore: -work on sound, posture -the study of music (jazz, improvisation, funk, rock, world music etc.) -work on your creativity. -hand and foot coordination -develop your own autonomy with the instrument -rhythmic reading, technique (snare drum etc.) J I always take care to adapt and shape my student's course for him/her. It is necessary in my opinion to always remain open to desires and requests, for progression and thus keep the most pleasure for learning
