Hi! My name is Charlie and I'm currently a member of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Orchestra. Teaching has been the foundation of my musical life for over a decade. My teaching studio has hosted a private studio in Oslo, New York, Connecticut and now Antwerp. While living in New York I was the viola and violin professor at Pluckd Studio where I helped prepare students for music festivals, auditions and to establish a sound foundational approach to instrumental playing. While a student at Juilliard, I coached students in Juilliard’s Pre-College/MAP program and helped lead children’s concerts in Chicago, Austin, New York and Oslo. Whether you are a beginner, conservatory student or young professional, you can expect a passionate and attentive lesson plan that will help you achieve your goals. I am a professional violinist that will focus on your technique and musical abilities. Each lesson will be tailored for each student, creating an interesting and challenging program. For more advanced students, a more focused program can be discussed, such as preparing for auditions, exams, etc.

My lessons are not only about technique of violin playing but also about learning how to listen and deal with music through a certain instrument. Lessons are adopted from the youngest ages (3+) to mature students. If you already are familiar with music theory I offer advices in composition but also music theory lessons as a preparation for music composition.

I am a professional violinist based in Antwerp, currently finishing a master in pedagogy in the Conservatory of Mons. I propose to teach the violin to children or adults. I adapt as much as possible to everyone, according to what you want to play with the violin :) I am also looking a lot for the best posture, to find the most comfortable way of playing for each student. I have been learning the violin and piano since 5 years old, and am currently taking a bachelor's in Music Performance in Violin, at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Students of any age are welcome, and I have special experience with beginner and younger students, having given a lot of lessons in piano and music theory. I teach in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and basic Dutch. The individual violin lessons are personalized and tailored to the progress and learning ability of each student. Emphasis is placed on developing good posture and ease of movement at the early stage. We will then continue to revise and enhance technique while taking on a more challenging repertoire as they progress. Lessons are stress-free and I always try to provide a safe and calm environment for an engaging and fun class! Games for little kids are an absolute must!
