Portfolio preparation for the entrance exams at the German-speaking art academies

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

How to prepare for a media interview? What means should be used to fight his fear of the camera and improve his image? How to present yourself and your project in front of a camera? How to present yourself and your project to the media? Targeted content according to your project: Verbal and/or gestural communication; Seduction of the lens and/or microphone; Improvisation in front of a microphone and/or camera; Voice & gaze; One or two camera games; Chronic; Animation; Reporting; Live radio & TV; Interview; Narration; Speech in all its forms (...). In short, several objectives: ◾ Confront your shyness in front of the microphone/camera. ◾ Understand his speech and diction. ◾ Tame the media environment (radio/tv). ◾ Become familiar with your image and voice. ◾ Manage your speaking time. Through exercises (diction, voice, presence, breathing, presentations, time management), role plays, simulated interviews and familiarization with their image and voice, participants evolve at their own pace within a framework flexible teaching. Please note that during the videoconference session, all the notes are transcribed gradually on the chat so that you can access them at any time when you wish. Indeed, speaking is a predominantly physical activity, which, while taking care of its image, is based on a body, a voice, a breath, a rhythm (diction) and an emotion (the imagination and the sensations ) reflecting the speaker's involvement in his speech. Supplemented by basic exercises (diction, voice, presence, breathing, presentation, time management), role plays, improvisations and simulations. Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

This class will guide you through the essentials of painting and drawing, covering foundational skills such as perspective, anatomy, and color theory, as well as techniques for analyzing and critiquing artwork. From still life and portraiture to landscapes, abstract painting, and multimedia art, this course will support you in developing your unique visual language. Based on your individual goals and interests, I will create a tailored plan to help you achieve the best possible outcomes in your artistic journey.

You will learn how to turn your ideas into screenplays with engaging and challenging storylines to engage an audience in TV and Film, using Industry standards. We will then look at how to write a Pitch Deck to send to Executive Producers and Commissioners. We will then look at how you cast, what crew will you need, do location reccies, costume and art design, which will lead to how to produce a Production Schedule, which is essential for everyone involved. You will learn about creating a shot list for your shoot, which includes camera angles, framing, lighting, lenses and additional equipment necessary. Once you have everybody and everything you need for your particular project, you will go out filming. You will then learn how to use Editing software, and how to make choices that are interesting and exciting.
