Trusted teacher: Do you want to play in a band, play for fun at home with friends, or become a proffecional drummer? Come for a lesson in my studio and see what you'd like to learn. If you like a certain style, we will focus on it and develop your playing towards your taste. I've been playing, teaching and studying drums for over 15 years now. I take it very seriously and try to tailor my teaching to every student that I have. I can use my experience as a proffecional musician to make you progress fast and focus on things not every teacher knows from books. In this course we will focus on technique as well as creativity and improvisation (one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing drums). Do you have any other percussion instrument you'd like to expand your knowledge on? I can offer you percussion lessons as well since I have a lot of experience in playing percussion as well. If you want to study with me I can provide a stable program for development for fast results including scores, exercises, etc. About me: As well as teaching, I'm mainly a performer of music - I've been playing drums with different bands as well as classical percussion for more than 15 years now in many different settings. In the last years of my development I've taken a closer look to jazz, pop, hip hop and rock music. I can use my experience to find good qualities in my students and develop them as much as possible. I gave lessons and workshops to students at the HKU, the Conservatory Amsterdam (pop and jazz departments), Conservatorium Utrecht, DSOP Amsterdam, Tiroler Landeskonservatorium Innsbruck and Musikhochschule Franz Liszt Weimar (D). Styles: rock, pop, jazz, funk, hip hop, drum 'n' bass, electro, dub-step, reggae, punk, various Latin American styles, metal, crossover, Carnatic music, ambient, drone, improvisation. possible lesson content: drums and percussion: – focus on the student's interests and goals: adjusting methods and pace. – we work on improving timing, sound, interaction, dynamics, independence, stick and foot technique. – select your favorite music and play along. – jamming with 2 drum sets, with guitar and drums or bass guitar and drums. – expand your drum set with percussion instruments and sound objects. – learn to read and write notes – we end the school year with a summer concert for parents and friends. e-drums and electronics: – learn to play on an electronic drum set and get to know all the benefits of e-drums – the use of effects on acoustic or electric drums (such as loops, reverb, delays, distortion, harmonizers) – playing synthesizers using your drum kit (via triggers) logic: – making your own samples – creating your own music productions – recording different instruments – get to know the basics of an audio mix – creating and printing sheet music compose: – learning how a song is constructed – analyzing and transcribing music – creating your own compositions using your instrument as a basis – further developing your existing compositions – composing with logic using MIDI instruments and/or recordings – improve your music theory skills band doctor/band coaching: I would like to come to your rehearsal to give you tips about ensemble playing, composing, arranging, recording and production of a demo or album, improvisation, performance and booking.
