The French course is based on your requests. If you are a student, we will work on what you need to master. The English course will allow you to familiarize yourself with English, or even to become bilingual. Latin lessons are for beginners and intermediates, you will learn the declensions and the translation of Latin texts

Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. As a recent Oxford Classics graduate, I am keen to share my love of Latin and the Latin language with any would-be enthusiasts. I have experience in tutoring Latin from scratch to A-Level equivalent standard. In these classes, I'll focus on equipping my students with the necessary tools to master grammar and build up their vocabulary repertoire. We'll focus on strengthening our understanding of the building blocks of the language - noun declensions, verb conjugations, participles and the like - before moving onto more complex syntax such as subjunctive clauses. My lessons take an active approach so alongside the grammar tables we'll also translate passages of Latin, and I might throw in a fun fact or two!

You will learn Latin the way it was meant to be learned - through conversation! Medieval scholars and contemporary language researchers alike advocate the use of dialogues and comprehensible input for language acquisition, and it most certainly works! As opposed to the "memorise grammar rules and then babble them in front of the class" approach that was demonstrated by the infamous "Romanēs eunt domus" scene from Monty Python's "The Life of Brian", you will learn to feel the grammar, so that you will be able to use the different cases of Latin without even thinking about it, just like a native speaker! Traupman Conversational Latin for Oral Proficiency I will be the collocutor and I will answer the learner's questions and explain certain oddities solely in Latin (I will use a second language only when the situation calls for it) We will also engage in free-form conversations, discussions of the dialogues, of our life experiences etc so that the learner can apply what they learn to real-life situations and expand their vocabulary

I studied Latin for 6 years (high school and university) and read the works of (among others) : -Ovidius -Virgil -Horace -Civero -Catullus I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary. Associate professor of Grammar (= Classical letters with an ancient linguistic emphasis), doctor in Comparative Literature (Paris IV-Sorbonne), gives courses for aggregators (internal or external competition), on the Greek part of the program: -Homer, Iliad, IX-X -Euripides, Medea -Lysias, Discourse, “On the sacred olive tree” The other parts of the program and the Latin program can also be covered, depending on demand. Salvē, my name is Carlotta and I have 7 years of experience in tutoring. These lessons are now online, which in my experience does not lower the quality or results at all. I followed courses at Schola Latīna, an Italian private school that uses the comprehensible input (CI) method. This means that all lessons are taught exclusively in the target language, which allows me to not only translate Latin, but also speak and write it. Since no Flemish school expects active language proficiency, I will of course not do this unasked during lessons ;) In practice the same problems always return: difficulties with translation, difficulties with memorization of sequences and vocabulary, lack of motivation or fun. When such a fantastic profession is experienced as difficult, it is only logical that motivation also drops. Whatever the problem, Latin itself is a perfectly feasible subject. This class is designed for people to work through translation with a variety of Latin passages of all difficulties. I will provide and prepare the texts, and we will work through them together in order to ensure maximum understanding. Authors include Virgil, Ovid, Catullus, Cicero, Nepos, and others.

I have several years of experience tutoring students of different age groups in Latin and Ancient Greek. I am deeply passionate about these languages and I enjoy helping students improving at them. I believe that understanding the structure of a sentence is fundamental when approaching these languages, therefore this is an important focus for me. During the class I always dedicate some time to reasoning and translating sentences together with the student. I have a BS in pharmaceutical biotechnology and I am currently a master student in Medicine. I find biology very fascinating and I have been tutoring it for years now. Depending on the topic and the student's needs, I structure the lessons differently. I usually explain the topic and use tools such as spaced repetition, notes, conceptual maps to make sure that the student has understood.
