I also ensure that the student finds his own working method, by trying different ways of learning (highlighting, making cards, repeating out loud, learning the lesson then practicing or by practicing... ) Finally, I try to make sure to show my students the value of what they are learning, because it is extremely difficult to get involved when you don't see why you are working. - Depending on the student's needs, I may or may not give homework from one course to another.
