Course History of International Relations - Contemporary challenges of globalization

Passionate about history, I am at your disposal for any help you would need to organize and study your EDM / geography / human sciences courses. Focusing on efficiency, I make sure that the study relies as much as possible on current events in order to make it alive and relevant. All seriously, but always in a good mood.

I offer classes on History, Geography, and Political Science, with over 11 years' of experience in these subjects, both professionally and academically. I hold Bachelor's Degrees in both History and Political Science (from the University of Florida), as well as a Master's in Political Science, specifically European Politics (from KU Leuven). I have extensive experience in a wide range of historical and political subjects and have always had a keen interest in history and the social sciences. Additionally, previously I have been a journalist (dealing with Competition Law) and currently am an editor working on a wide variety of subjects for organizations such as the UNHCR and Goethe Institut, among others. I am capable of teaching and lecturing on numerous historical and political events and periods in history, with myself having specialized in European history, American history, African history, as well as the Medieval period and Antiquity.

From a personal perspective, social sciences, regardless of GCSE or A-level, require enormous reading and understanding of the texts, critical thinking and writing. These are crucial to students' performances for their exams. With a background in A-level History and Politics, I have designed this course with the purpose of helping GCSE and A-level students understand the texts they are required to read and grasp the essential logical reasoning and language needed to structure their essays.

I give support, homework help and refresher courses in middle school in French, English, history-geography, mathematics in 6th and 5th grade, and in French, English, history-geography in 4th and 3rd grade. I have a Bac + 5 and I have been giving lessons for 10 years. During the first lesson, I ask to consult the student's lessons since the beginning of the year in order to get an idea of their level and the elements that will need to be reviewed and consolidated.

History and Political Science are intertwined subjects with multidisciplinary approaches. To study one of these, one must understand the other. I offer classes that teach either of the two subjects, as well as both (if required) with aspect to the other. How often have we wondered about historical events with respect to Politics? Do we know that the Romanovs were related to the British Royal Family and how their brutal killings was shaped by geopolitics of the era, or how Hitler's death was a highly controversial political debate? You see how history and politics cannot be separated. It is also undeniable that having knowledge of the two subjects can help you achieve higher marks and credits, as well as a deeper understanding and passion for the subjects.

My teaching style is student-centered and adaptive, focusing on making learning both enjoyable and highly effective. I believe in creating an interactive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging in discussions. Having excelled in the IB Diploma myself, achieving 6s and 7s in all the subjects I teach at higher level—Economics, Politics and, English Language and Literature —I know firsthand what it takes to succeed in the program. History is what connects the present to the past and helps us to predict the future. In my class, you will learn modern european history, in particular the history of Germany from 1918 to 1989. You will be taught by a world class teacher that has studied European history to a high level, gaining an A in the subject. The key aspects of the history of Germany will be broken down into manageable chunks for students to understand more easily. The classes are delivered through interactive learning consisting of kahoot quizes, powerpoint slides and asking questions to students. By making these classes fun and engaging, my aim is for students to always come away learning something they did not know before. All students of any age are welcome to join this class. My requirement for this class is for students to ask as many questions as possible because no question is a bad question, we are all here to learn!
