Pratiquant le solfège et la guitare en conservatoire depuis l’âge de 5 ans et, souhaitant poursuivre une carrière de musicien à l’issue de mes études secondaires, j’ai intégré la M.A.I (Music Academy International), où j’ai été diplômé en qualité de musicien/compositeur professionnel et coach vocal. Cet enseignement m’a permis, dans un lieu d’échanges et de rencontres, de développer mes compétences musicales et d’acquérir une formation sur les problématiques d’ordre artistique et de gestion de carrière pour développer mon potentiel afin de concilier passion pour la musique et professionnalisme.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Ik ben een Spaanse pianist en componist (MMus afgestudeerd aan Codarts Rotterdam in beide richtingen) met al veel jaren leservaring, en ook zeer actief op het gebied van optredens in diverse contexten. Ik geef privé-pianolessen voor alle niveaus en stijlen (klassiek, jazz, latin, new age, pop...), en ook muziektheorie-, compositie- en improvisatielessen. Mijn lessen onderscheiden zich door hun dynamiek, praktische aanpak en aanpassing aan de behoeften en interesses van de student. De lessen (live of online) vinden plaats in mijn studio naast de Maastunnel, waar ik een premium stage piano en een top-kwaliteit webcam setup heb. Ik spreek Nederlands op gemiddeld niveau, dat met de dag beter wordt.

Hey! Mijn naam is Richard en ik geef gitaarles/ muziektheorie aan iedereen die het nodig heeft! Voor gitaar is het belangrijk dat je in een aangename omgeving jezelf kan verbeteren op een leuke manier waar jouw interesses centraal staan. Wil je je verdiepen in een bepaalde stijl? Wil je een eigen sound creëren op je gitaar aan de hand van amps, pedalen, ...? Daar kan ik je allemaal mee verderhelpen! Een kennis van notenleer of muziektheorie is niet vereist, we kunnen dit wel altijd in de les behandelen indien je dit wilt, maar dat is zeker niet verplicht ;) Zelf ben ik student aan het conservatorium te Gent en speel ik al gitaar sinds mijn 9 jaar. Sinds enkele jaren speel ik in professionele bands waarmee ik onderandere bijvoorbeeld op suikerrock heb kunnen spelen. Naast mijn werk in bands ben ik beschikbaar als sessiemuzikant, bands kunnen me dus vragen om mee te spelen voor een of meerdere optredens. Meestal is dit last minute waardoor mijn kunsten als zichtlezer zeer goed zijn, bovendien zorgt dit ervoor dat ik thuis ben van alle stijlen. De lessen zouden doorgaan bij mij thuis te Mol of via webcam. Indien nodig kunnen we ook altijd iets anders afspreken. C'est pourquoi je propose des leçons particulières de musique et de piano en français destinée aux personnes non-francophones souhaitant découvrir ou même élargir leur connaissance dans la langue de Molière. Chaque début de cours sera abordé par un peu de solfège, la partie généralement moins amusante. Mais à l'aide de méthodes ludiques et amusante ; (mots-croisés, schéma récapitulatif, moyens mnémotechniques...), l'élève aura une facilité à comprendre ces bases musicales. J'adapte ensuite la partie pratique sur les préférences de l'élève (ainsi que son niveau). Il peut apporter ses partitions avec lesquelles nous pouvons travailler.

J'ai de l'expérience avec des étudiants de tous âges et je crois qu'il n'y a pas d'âge pour commencer à apprendre à jouer d'un instrument. J'adapte mes cours aux objectifs et aux goûts de chaque élève. On peut apprendre la musique classique, mais aussi d'autres styles comme la pop.
