Developing confidence as a girl is difficult. This course teaches girls to replace unhelpful thinking patterns, fear of failure, and the tendency to hold back using mental tools they can use in any situation. This course girls learn what it means to be oneself, express that confidently, the ingredients for becoming confident, a little about their neurology and brain development, taking safe risks and how to navigate the unhelpful world of social media. Research shows that what makes a confident boy does not make a confident girl, the recipe is quite different. The most pivotal time for a girl to learn how to develop confidence is between ages of 6-12 years of age, as after studies show that girls confidence levels drop dramatically and remain lower than boys and men until late in life. This is a practical, fun, engaging course that will help your nieces, daughters, students and friends embrace their amazing imperfect powerful young self. The course can also be tailored for individual goals and needs. Livvy creates a safe, relaxed, fun and real environment during class that involves art, movement, drama, somatics, affirmations, reprogramming negative beliefs about oneself, and other coping strategies to equip your girl through her teen years and beyond. This course is based on incredible and groundbreaking research of Katy Kay & Claire Shipman “The Confidence Code”. Hi, I'm Sophie, I'm currently offering mentoring help to students. I studied Zoology at Swansea University and went on to work in an animal movement lab, teaching tagging technologies to Masters and PhD students. My next role was based in Singapore where I was a field biology teacher taking students aged 8 - 18 around different ecosystems teaching them environmental surveying techniques and ways to save our planet. When I returned to the UK I worked in an after school and holiday children's club encouraging the involvement of students in a number of activities. I then worked for a wildlife charity in Communications, Engagement and Training, boosting their online presence and reaching their ideology out to different demographics. My most recent role was as an Environmentalist and Duke of Edinburgh lead at a private school in Buckinghamshire. I am currently working towards a Masters in Sustainable Business at the University of York. All of this experience has allowed me to communicate well with students and show them how to get the best out of life. Sometimes they don't believe in their own ability, or don't currently possess the communication skills to achieve their potential. I am offering support to students to help them prepare for general academic life and study. Together we would look at workload, homework, revision skills, school or university applications and how to approach people in their day to day academic life. Life in school can sometimes be hard on a student, this is what we'd work together on to make sure they have the best experience possible. I am DBS checked, safeguarding and child protection aware, first aid trained and have voluntarily mentored and tutored students before. I have just come out of a role at a school therefore have a comprehensive understanding of teaching and pastoral care. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Introduction (5 minutes): I welcome children in a warm and encouraging manner. I briefly explain to them what they will learn in the course. I establish simple rules for the class, such as raising your hand to speak, listening attentively, etc. Song or rhyme (5 minutes): I start with a simple song or rhyme that introduces some basic vocabulary words. For example, a song about colors, numbers or body parts. Recognition activity (10 minutes): I use cards or pictures to introduce basic vocabulary words. For example, I show a picture of an animal and ask the children to say its name in the target language. I encourage the children to repeat the words after me and use them in simple sentences. Interactive games and activities (15 minutes): I organize fun games that reinforce the vocabulary taught. For example, a memory game where the child has to associate images with words, or a guessing game where I describe an object and the child has to guess what it is. I use artistic activities like drawing or cutting to create visual connections with vocabulary words. Story or book (10 minutes): I read a short story or picture book that dramatizes the basic vocabulary words I have taught. I interact with the children by asking them questions about the story and encouraging them to use the vocabulary they have learned. Conclusion and recap (5 minutes): I summarize the vocabulary words the children learned during the lesson. I encourage children to ask questions if they have any and to share what they have learned. I congratulate them for their participation and their efforts.
