Because you are looking left and right for information, advice and books to read but you are getting scattered. You constantly watch chess videos on the Internet which are entertaining but it is too passive an activity which does not really make you study chess in depth. Then, you will play online games at too fast a pace while you do not master the main general principles. You thus develop bad reflexes because you constantly repeat the same mistakes without even realizing it, which causes your level to quickly stagnate. Then, you make a game report which tells you that you played with 80% accuracy but nevertheless you lost and you do not necessarily understand the main reasons. And finally, you watch the game with an analysis module which offers you good moves but does not provide you with the explanations necessary to fully understand them. Some teachers also offer group lessons with a monthly subscription which can help you progress slightly, but what you need is a truly personalized lesson. I've had 2 lessons with Prashil and they have been incredibly interesting. He explained all the pieces and the board in a concise and comprehensible manner. He has a great sense of humour which adds well to his teaching methods as well as making it more fun. We even lost track of time at one point because we were both so concentrated on the game. Overall he's an excellent teacher and I'm excited to continue the lessons.

Arman has been teaching chess to my 6-year old son for about 2 months now. My boy started with hardly any knowledge of the game. Thanks to Arman he now thoroughly enjoys playing chess. Arman is a great teacher: patient but firm - with exactly the right combination of theory (e.g. puzzles, openings etc.) and practice (via Lichess).
