Achieving 8's in GCSE Maths, Biology and Chemistry and now studying Biochemistry at University In my lessons, I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment where concepts are broken down into simple, manageable steps. We’ll use techniques like active recall and spaced repetition to ensure long-term understanding and retention. I’ll also incorporate visual aids and real-world examples to make learning engaging and relatable. Every session is tailored to your needs, helping you build confidence, tackle challenging topics, and develop the skills needed to succeed independently. I also encourage you to think about problems carefully, not just memorize answers. I teach you how to break down questions and look for patterns, so you can solve problems more easily. Additionally, if you struggle with organisation and time management, I can help with note-taking and creating personalized revision timetables. These tools will be valuable for your independent study, helping you stay on track and make the most of your revision time. For Maths, I’ll guide you through solving problems step by step, using diagrams and graphs to clarify abstract ideas. Real-world applications will show how mathematical concepts are useful beyond the classroom, helping you master key skills and feel prepared for any type of question. In Chemistry, I simplify complex topics like bonding, reactions, and calculations by linking them to everyday examples, making them easier to understand. We’ll focus on problem-solving strategies, clear explanations, and regular practice to ensure you’re exam-ready. In Biology, I bring topics like cells, ecosystems, and human systems to life by connecting them to relatable, real-world contexts. Using diagrams and structured explanations, I’ll help you break down complex processes and explain them in your own words. Mistakes are a natural part of learning, and I encourage you to attempt challenging questions without fear. This approach helps us pinpoint areas for growth, so you’re fully prepared for exams. Together, we’ll unlock your potential and make your goals a reality in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology!

Trusted teacher: Mathematics course(especially from the entrance exam perspective) taught by an engineering graduate with over 14 years of teaching experience in mathematics up to the undergraduate level. I also have more than 3 years of experience in teaching and guiding standardized tests such as the GRE and SAT. I can help you learn these standardized courses (GRE, SAT, and even TOEFL) more effectively. I offer mathematics lessons for various levels of students, including Bachelor students, IB (Math SL and Math HL) students, A-level students, European S6 and S7 level students, GCSE students, and IGCSE students. I also provide science courses in Physics and Chemistry for students up to the European upper secondary level, as well as IB and A-level students. Additionally, I offer Biology lessons for students up to the European Secondary level, GCSE level, and IGCSE level. Currently, I am teaching a diverse range of students, including: - GCSE students - IGCSE students - IB students - European School students - AS/A-level students - Lycée Vauban students - Athénée de Luxembourg students I also provide homework help for school students, and student progress can be assessed through periodic tests as per the requirements of parents or the students themselves. Note: Please note that while some of my students may have courses taught in French, German, or Swedish, my primary teaching language is English. As the subject is mathematics, it is generally easy to understand the task at hand, and I explain the answers in English.

First of all, who am I? I am a dual engineer by training, and I was able to train at a very high level in hard sciences through academic exchanges and extra training: preparation for the aggregation, exchange at EPFL, UC Berkeley, etc. I taught in high school for two years in Term Spé, 1ère Spé and Seconde, and I was a kolleur in CPGE in MPSI and PSI for a year, at a rate of 5 hours/week in order to prepare students for the competitive exams for prestigious grandes écoles: l'X, ENS... Throughout my training, I always had great academic skills and strong learning abilities, because I completed my entire schooling at home, via the CNED. Finally, I have good experience in competitive examinations and high-level academic training: doctorate at the X, admitted to the ENS, master's at the EPFL... you can trust me  So I have a strong experience in teaching and science in general, and I have already supervised many students in private lessons. The results were always present and impressive, depending on the student's confidence. It's simple, if you follow my advice, I guarantee that you will succeed in physics-chemistry and science throughout your schooling! I just ask you to give me time to adapt to you and your needs. But, I will also ask you: work, diligence and courage. We will discuss all this together during the first class, don't be afraid! You will be able to ask your questions on all points: CV, methods... My packs and my methods? My method can be summed up in one point: excellence at all costs. There is no way I'm going to waste your money by helping you cram without understanding anything. It's effective in middle school/high school, but useless afterwards.

In the IGCSE and CIE (AS/A Level) Biology and Chemistry curricula, Organic Chemistry is a major topic, particularly within Chemistry. Here's a breakdown of what is covered at each level: --- IGCSE Chemistry (Cambridge - 0620/0971) In IGCSE, Organic Chemistry focuses on the fundamentals of carbon compounds and their reactions. Key areas include: 1. Introduction to Organic Chemistry - Definition: Organic chemistry is the study of carbon-based compounds. - Hydrocarbons: Compounds made up of carbon and hydrogen only. 2. Types of Hydrocarbons - Alkanes: - General formula: CnH2n+2 - Properties: Saturated hydrocarbons (single bonds). - Combustion and substitution reactions. - Alkenes: - General formula: CnH2n - Properties: Unsaturated hydrocarbons (double bonds). - Addition reactions (e.g., with bromine water as a test for alkenes). 3. Functional Groups and Homologous Series - Alcohols: General formula CnH2n+1OH (e.g., ethanol). - Properties and combustion. - Carboxylic Acids: General formula CnH2n+1COOH(e.g., ethanoic acid). - Weak acids, their reactions, and uses. 4. Polymers - Addition Polymerization: Formation of polymers from alkenes (e.g., poly(ethene), poly(propene)). - Natural and Synthetic Polymers: Proteins, nylon, and plastics. - Environmental Issues: Problems with non-biodegradable plastics. --- CIE AS and A Level Chemistry (9701) At the AS/A Level, Organic Chemistry is studied in greater depth, with emphasis on structure, reactions, and mechanisms. Key topics include: 1. Structure and Bonding in Organic Compounds - Structural, displayed, and skeletal formulas. - somerism: - Structural isomers. - Stereoisomerism: cis-trans(E/Z) isomerism. 2. Functional Groups and Reactions - Alkanes: Combustion and free radical substitution reactions. - Alkenes: Addition reactions (e.g., hydrogenation, halogenation, hydration). - Alcohols: Preparation (hydration of ethene) and oxidation (to aldehydes, ketones, or carboxylic acids). - Halogenoalkanes: Nucleophilic substitution reactions. - Carboxylic Acids: Reactions (e.g., neutralization, esterification). - Esters: Formation and hydrolysis. 3. Mechanisms of Reactions - Free radical substitution (e.g., in alkanes). - Electrophilic addition (e.g., in alkenes). - Nucleophilic substitution (e.g., in halogenoalkanes). 4. Polymers and Biochemistry - Addition and condensation polymers. - Structure of proteins and DNA. 5. Organic Synthesis - Pathways for converting one functional group to another. - Use of reagents, conditions, and mechanisms in synthesis. Summary - IGCSE Organic Chemistry focuses on basic hydrocarbons (alkanes, alkenes), functional groups (alcohols, carboxylic acids), and polymers. - AS/A Level Organic Chemistry goes deeper into mechanisms, isomerism, synthesis pathways, and advanced functional groups.

Narayan
Narayan is a really good teacher. I urgently needed someone to teach me physics for two different medical school entrance exams. He was able to do it very fast and well. Every lesson started with him explaining a specific concept, and then he gave me practice questions to ensure that I was confident in solving them. Additionally, after every lesson, he shared his notes with me to study from them later on. I truly feel confident and prepared for my exams. Thank you so much!!
