About Me

I had my first experience with yoga when I was 8 years old. My mother (who too has been practicing yoga for the last 34 years) took me to Vivekanand Yoga Ashram in my native town of Aligarh, Uttar Pradeh India. I was an Asthmatic.
Fast forward to 2007, I was struggling with low energy levels and exhaustion, unable to run behind my super active toddler. I found a cure for improving my stamina and my recurring Asthmatic attacks, in yoga classes at Sivananda Yoga Centre, Gurgaon India. I found the classes to be soothing to my body, mind, and soul.
To further this journey, I did my Yoga Teacher’s Training Course at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram, Thiruvanantpuram, Kerala India in 2008.
Immediately after which, I started to teach at the Sivananda Yoga centre.
Opened my Yoga Studio In Kolkata in 2016.
During Pandemic times, started teaching online to students worldwide.
With the regular practice of basic Sivananda Yoga class, I benefitted in several ways including
got completely cured of Asthma
an improved stamina
an increase in my energy level
peace of mind

Better digestion
Overall well being among many others
I was infected with COVID 19 in April 2021 and developed lung damage as the long-term side effect of COVID. Tried medication for 2-3 months but got no relief. Finally, I went back to practicing traditional breathing practices called Pranayama, which helped me to restore my lungs’ health completely.
I practiced Prenatal Yoga during my pregnancies and could deliver my children normally (no C-Section)
My elder daughter is taking the tradition forward and practices regularly and the younger one has started enjoying and looks forward to joyful kids’ yoga classes.
Yoga has been my constant companion helping me at every stage in my life. Wish to help you, to experience and benefit in the same way, through the holistic teaching of Yoga and Pranayama.

Yoga to Feel Better and Heal - Gentle Yoga, Private Online Classes
The yoga sessions I offer are perfect for anyone looking for a transformation in their life on a physical, mental and spiritual level. If you are looking for a slower, more relaxing practice, you can choose Yin, Restorative or Gentle Hatha Yoga. If you are looking to improve your core strength and balance and lose some calories, then an intense Hatha, Vinyasa or Hot Yoga class will be perfect for you. Each class is specially designed for the unique needs of the student and typically consists of: some breathing practices to focus, energise and/or relax the body and mind, then we move into a physical practice (which can be yoga poses, asanas or gentle stretches or faster paced abdominal/leg/back strengthening exercises) and then we finish with deep stretching and relaxation. The class typically lasts between 60-75 minutes and the sessions are ideal for students of all ages (I have experience working with children). I am a qualified yoga teacher with 200 hours and a mental health therapist with over 4 years teaching experience. Come and join me on your journey :)
