This class will allow you to develop your poetry writing (and creative writing) skills and develop your practice. We will cover creative writing techniques and skills required for writing well-crafted poetry. We will look at different areas such as writing about place, theme and people.

I am an experienced, engaging and versatile tutor of English Literature, Language, Creative Writing and Poetry. I have a BA in English Literature from Aberystwyth University, an MA in Critical Theory and Creative Writing from Sussex University, and a PhD in Critical Theory and Literature, also from Sussex. I am friendly and supportive, and work with a broad range of abilities and ages. I have tutored GCSE and A-level pupils at State schools across the UK, as well as students at independent schools such as Marlborough College, Bedales, Charterhouse and Hurtwood House. For five years I was also writer in residence at Hurtwood House.
