My name is Jamie and I have been playing drum kit and percussion instruments for over 20 years. I'm well versed when it comes to techniques, rudiments, various styles of music, reading music, writing music, and teaching. At the age of 16, I was not only in three band classes in high school, but was a member of two community groups, Little London Winds and Pikes Peak Philharmonic. Additionally, I've played percussion in orchestra pits for community theater productions for seven years. In 2012, I continued to play with various community concert and orchestral groups, all while coaching my old high school's drumline. In 2015, I joined the military but that didn't stop me from teaching. From 2018-2019, I coached a local high school drumline in Washington State who won an award at regionals for the first time in the schools history. Still in the military, in 2023 I relocated to California City, CA with hopes to tech aspiring individuals. Drum Kit: I started playing drums when I was six years old and am well versed in all styles of music. You, your child, your teen, or whomever you're looking into classes for will learn to read music, techniques, rudiments, and fundamentals. First, we start with the basics and build from there. It may seem boring or lack luster at first, but trust me, once you get the hang of the basics, the fun really begins. These lessons will also help if your teen is in the high school Jazz Band. Percussion/Marching Band: Recently, I have learned that the middle school in town has cut their music program, leaving teens to not be able to get the proper experience and musical education before going to high school. I want to help with that in any way I can. By working with me, your child or teen will be able to work up to the experience needed to get them through high school level classes and extra curricular activities. Since these lessons are to get your kid up to speed, I will be recommending books that they should be practicing will. During the lessons, I will bring my own but for them to get the proper practice, I highly suggest having copies of the books at home and a practice pad. Both: Most students who want to learn drum kit, end up playing percussion in school. For students that want to learn both, they'll get both percussion and drum kit lessons at no extra charge. The lessons will be formed around the student's needs for that week. For example, if they have an audition or a test, we will work on that for 45min then finish with drum kit for some fun. My job as a private teacher is to help you, your kid, whomever with what ever they need. I do not have a strict curriculum, but I do plan my lessons around the student, their skills, and goals in order to help them be the best they can be.

My name is Candelaria, I am a lyrical singer, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina with more than 10 years of experience in the musical field and approximately 5 years of teaching experience, both in institutions and giving private classes to people of all ages, nationalities and levels in Spanish and English. I am currently writing my final thesis for the Bachelor of Musical Arts with a Singing orientation at the National University of the Arts, so I am one step away from graduating from the degree. In my classes I will help you develop your voice and your musicality by discovering the possibilities that our own instrument has by using the body as a whole to sing; always working from correct air management and healthy emission, so that you can sing and project without forcing. We will also work on tuning issues from auditory training if necessary and with gestures; We will also explore our instrument on a theoretical level but also through various exercises that will help you identify the muscles involved in the phonation process. My main objective is that my students can feel more and more comfortable and loose when it comes to transmitting and singing the repertoire they want by becoming more and more aware of how to do it.
