After developing Muscular Tension Dysphonia in 2010 and not singing for almost two years, she overcame this vocal disorder after working with some of the best voice and voice rehabilitation specialists in the UK. This experience further motivated her interest in teaching the following to her students in contemporary voice* using knowledge and training gained by renowned vocal coaches, ENTs and voice rehabilitation specialists: - Vocal technique, health and hygiene - Guidance in voice rehabilitation with students experiencing or recovering from vocal issues - Managing Performance Anxiety - Breath control - Microphone technique and stage performance - Basic music theory - Artist development and mentoring Katherine has over 15 years experience in one-to-one lessons, teaching students aged 4 years old to 50 years old of all levels and has developed programs for small choirs. As a lyrical singer I had the opportunity to perform at an international level but also to continue to teach my profession. We can also see points of music theory and harmony in a little more depth if desired. The course of an hour of lessons: - 15 mins of body and vocal warm-up - 15 mins of rhythmic music theory/melodic music theory/harmony (if desired) - 30 mins of singing on backing track or I can accompany you on piano or guitar.
