A-Level Sociology is one of the hardest subjects to tackle at A-Level if you are not familiar with memorising an entire compilation of names and theories. I specialise in teaching Sociology and achieved an A* at A-Level with OCR Sociology. In spite of this, I can teach and adapt to other exam boards like AQA, and there is a demand for Sociology tutoring. Hi! I am a recent LLB in Laws graduate from LSE. I have taught law tuition to degree level students who have secured high 2.1 and first grades in their examinations. My method of teaching is not to make you memorise the law but to understand the law in a simplistic manner, using laymen terms to explain the law which can be often complex or daunting to comprehend. During our sessions, I aim to finish a topic within a class or two before we tackle past year questions together. After our sessions, I will also encourage the student to use mindmaps/diagrams to consolidate his/her understanding. The student is free to attempt past year questions and we can go through it together during our next session as well. My method of teaching law has resulted in a former student of mine to score a first class honours grade in her EU Law examination earlier this year. Subjects which I can teach, having taken them at LSE include public law, property and trust law, company law, competition law, jurisprudence, tort law, IT law, EU Law and criminal law. Beyond teaching law, I can also help students with their applications to law firms, having secured a Vacation Scheme and a Training Contract. My name is Christian and I am a qualified solicitor back in my home country of New Zealand.I've recently moved to London and before I embark on my next professional adventure, I thought it might be a nice time to give back some of the knowledge I've collected over my studies and professional experience. I took great satisfaction when I helped my younger brother during his legal studies (and even more so when I admitted him to become a lawyer). I spent many years trying to grasp what the law is, how to write a 'legal opinion', how to write 'like a lawyer' - even how to 'think like a lawyer'. Surprisingly, all thise things are actually quite helpful even if you don't want to become a lawyer. Understanding the law can help you know your rights better, it can help you solve problems more logically, it can help you write more concisely and more persuasively. Anywhere you go or whatever you want to do, somewhere along the line the law will be involved - if ever so slightly. And the best part is, there is always more to learn! Even the finest judges, or the most distinguished King's Counsel don't know everything about the law (although they;d be pretty bloody close). So let me know whether you're studying law and want some help with your studies, whether you want to improve your writing or negotiating skills, whether you want to learn abit more about the law that affects you, or whether you want to know what its' like working as a lawyer. With over one year experience in teaching and a decade long experience with adolescents and young adults, I, herein, present my course in "International Humanitarian Law". In today's globalized world where the effects and repercussions of a conflict are not confined within a single state, it becomes crucial to know what rules are in place that regulate conflict and provide protection to those who are vulnerable. Aiming to mitigate and prevent human suffering in an armed conflict, International Humanitarian Law gives us answers to questions, such as: who can and cannot be targeted and under which conditions; at what times does a protected person lose protection; who is a combatant; what distinguishes a combatant from a civilian; and, what protections are available to those who do not take part in an armed conflict. Amidst the many interstate conflicts, such as, Ukraine-Russia, Iran-Israel and Palestine-Israel conflicts, as well as the intrastate ones, such as in Sudan, having a working knowledge of International Humanitarian Law becomes even more vital as it re-establishes one's trust in law and humanity at such uncertain times as these ones.
