Trusted teacher: English is the one of the most common languages in the world. Nowadays, it becomes more and more inevitable to learn how to use this particular language as a tool for daily life struggles, on social media and of course in business. I am a second year medical student enrolled in MD-PhD program and I am used to doing Critical and Analytic Lectures. I specialise tutoring in English for all kinds of students, from beginner to academic level especially for the basic needs : listening, reading, writing and speaking. And for all those who are interested or in need a particularity of mine is that I also teach Life Sciences (check out my classes:). I have passed during my school years PET- FCE- IELTS C1 levels and I have achieved them perfectly, I know how the exams work but also I have gained experience talking with native english speakers! I am now a discussion&debate workshop minister in my faculty. English has always been a passion to me. I can say I have always been a nerd and more importantly I have stopped using subtitles in movies and videos in primary school! I have to admit that I've started my scientific journey thanks to English articles and original sci-fi books (translating them usually causes logical dissociations between the subject and what's written) and when I was told to do presentations about anything the best ressources was in English! You know what? English is the actual official language for Science. From anthropology to astronomy, maths, biochemistry and many more... All researches are published in English, so it becomes an essential skill to learn.

Trusted teacher: I am a UCL Biological Sciences student seeking to offer a highly personalised tutoring experience that caters to my students' needs. I currently teach from Year 7 upwards with a speciality in exam preparation. I teach Geography, RS, Physics, and English from Years 7-11, and Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry from Years 7-13. I aim to understand my tutees' unique concerns and explain concepts simply with many alternative approaches. As someone who has experienced obstacles to my own learning, I have a lot of empathy for students struggling with their learning, particularly those with learning differences and endeavour to develop an approach that works for them. I was a strong student in secondary school (Queen’s College, London) achieving A*s and As (and equivalents) at GCSE and three As at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Particularly of note, I received a 9 in GCSE Mathematics, 98% in GCSE Religious Studies, and was awarded a sixth-form academic scholarship. I am an experienced tutor - I participated in a tutoring scheme in secondary school which allowed students from Year 7 to Year 12 to ask any questions they might be struggling with in any subject they wished. This allowed me to continue to engage with my GCSE content during my A-Level years and taught me how to listen to and understand the particular needs of each student at a given moment. I also tutored family and friends of family, allowing me to engage personally with my students and develop a specialised teaching approach. I offer one hour and two hour sessions and am free on weekends, after 5pm, and whenever my university timetable permits. I am generally free at all times outside of university term time.

After a scientific baccalaureate with an SVT option, I continued to study biology at the University. I specialized in biochemistry, then in immunology, and I completed a thesis in fundamental biology on an HIV protein. I offer academic support courses at the middle school, high school and higher levels, as well as preparation for the baccalaureate. What I propose, depending on your level and your requirements (exams, school programs, etc.): - define together a program likely to meet your expectations - review and deepen the concepts seen in class, in particular the blocking points, if there are any. Find other angles and other supports to approach these notions. - take a quiz (or a kahoot) at the start of the course on the concepts seen previously - deepen the methodology and writing techniques. My daughter has started taking lessons from Emilia. The lessons are about writing essays in English and speaking. There was a good connection from the start, she was very engaging and on top of the topics. Emilia also regularly has given me feedback about my daughters development. Our experience with Emilia was more and above our expectations so far. She was also giving homework's and reviewing the homework before the lesson, so very happy to have chosen her for private English lessons.
